a morning without me would be perfect
all the gears everywhere meshing together...

all members of the newly formed high voltage wasted no time in getting to work.

they were to meet up at café staccato. it was obvious live chose the destination because of vinyl, and she got lucky that no one else had a problem with it. especially flower—they were the one that lived there.

the first hours of the morning left few people to watch out of the windows of the café. the sky was an array of colours, ranging from the softest blues to the prettiest yellows, and the shadows were not as harsh as they were at noon. glitch couldn't help but wish he brought his camera as they made their way through the streets.

as soon as they opened the door to the café, flower ushered them in. "dad made green tea for everyone in case you wanted it. it's better for the throat than coffee is," they offered. they began handing out a small thermos of the beverage for the other three, in which they accepted it with thanks.

glitch and live enjoyed the taste, as they did the day before, yet were still reeling at the fact that an inkling who seemed so innocuous was related to their idol. live was sure that, if it weren't for the flower crown that covered half their face, she would have made the connection sooner.

she has a gut feeling that she shouldn't ask about it.

"here starts our first official day as high voltage!" live proclaimed, bringing an upbeat vibe to the empty café. "gosh, i'm so pumped. let's get warmed up, 'wanna get through lots of things today!"

"please, live... at least sit down first," mono asked from behind her.

despite first impressions, live was incredibly diligent when it came to managing her team's affairs. she sorted out many questions and concerns she had for the team the night prior, and came very prepared for their first ever meeting.

the basics of their roles when it came to songs was quickly settled. of course, everyone agreed to collaborate on every aspect to make sure it's to the entire team's liking, but each one of them had their own specialties that they could take charge of to enhance their future performances.

...except for mono. he seemed to be the outlier in the unit when it came to music. there was something about live's voice that drew crowds upon crowds in, and glitch's movements were mesmerizing to him, and he's assuming flower had the opportunity to hone their composing skills for who knows how long. everyone seemed to have the needed experience except for him.

he bit the inside of his cheek. battling was all he ever seemed to be good for.

but mono won't let that slide so easily.

once it seemed that they moving onto the topic of how to handle battles, mono spoke up. "can we focus on music more than we do on that?"

his understanding teammates said yes, with an "obviously" from glitch, which was a relief, but flower's innocent curiosity as to why mono requested this put him in a tough position.

quickly taking notice of mono's hesitance to talk, live rushed to explain the very basics to flower. "his family is sort of like team orange's families. maybe even team monarch's." she explained.
