everything felt so surreal. i'm at the olympics. at eighteen. this year brazil was hosting meaning i was far from japan.

as i prepared to go on the ice, i took deep and heavy breaths. "you'll do great out there, y/n." my coach said with a proud smile. "this is your destiny. i could see it ever since you stepped foot on the ice when you were seven." my other coach said giving me a pat on the back.

"i'm so nervous." i shivered taking off my jacket, "now or never" i whispered, thinking of my kid at home. 

time skip

after the music ended i was out of breath and nearly in tears as people threw stuffed animals onto the rink. i picked up a panda bear stuffed animal to give to my son when i get back.

before my score got released, my coaches made sure to tell me to not expect anything high because i'm still so new to the field. but i think deep down they knew, i was going to place.

and boy were they right.

second place.

i sat at the bench for a bit, just thinking about my life. everything i've gone through just to get to this point. and i realize that, i wouldn't have done it any other way. i wouldn't have done it with another person another than rintarou.
