"I fricking knew it. You jerk. I loved you so much but you betrayed me." She stood up and stormed out.

The door slammed. I silently sat with the locket. I cried and cried and cried. I don't know how long I cried for, I looked at my phone as it went off.

I picked it up.
One new message from Hazyy.

I blinked back tears and opened my phone.

I am sorry for how I acted, I should've
thought about how you would feel.

I began to type back

I dunno what I'd do
without ya Haze. Luv as a friend Hazy

I shut my phone off. My heart was pounding. I didn't feel like I was a friend to Hazel. I felt pointless. I grabbed the crinkled note. I read it 6 times. I sobbed weakly. My phone buzzed again.

Your just making it worse Kas
Never should've told ya how I
felt.

My fingers numbly typed back.

Your being a jerk about
this entire thing

I sent the message, unaware of the presence lurking behind me.

"Dear, sweet Kassandra Ace McCain. You missed it all. The note wasn't written by your dear parents. They promised me a deal. A deal they should've never took. A life they never had together. A family that was broken. Now you will suffer, Ace of Cain."
