Three days later, James was pacing back-and-forth in his chamber at Remington Hall, his hands curling into fists. There was one thing he hadn't told Camille, and it was eating at him like mad. He had a secret that no one knew about, not even Richard. He stopped pacing and turned to stare at his reflection in the large gold mirror. To a human, he appeared completely normal. But of course, that wasn't true.
As he continued gazing at his reflection, James felt his body beginning to burn as images of Camille flashed in his mind. Her beautiful face, lovely eyes and lips, and her golden brown curls swirled around in his head. Then there was the image of her creamy neck, the blood pumping beneath her skin. His tongue emerged from his mouth like a snake, and he licked his lips with hunger. His green eyes became a deep red. His canines elongated until they came to rest on either side of his lips.
James growled softly. Camille was his, and no one was going to have her. But she needed to become his completely. He realized that she wasn't going to be a human for much longer. That was of course if she accepted him for what he was. He closed his eyes, remembering the sweet smell of her blood as he spoke with her, as he kissed her three days prior. He felt his cock stabbing against his trousers, desperate for release.
Taking a deep breath, James composed himself, watching his eyes return to dark green and his canines retract. He knew that the only way Camille was going to become a vampire was by drinking some of his blood. And that was after he took some of hers. But first, he needed to tell her that he was a vampire and make sure she wasn't afraid of him. If she was afraid of him, they wouldn't become engaged. But if she accepted him...
The sound of his chamber door opening had James scrambling out of his thoughts. Turning his head, he noticed his butler, Harrison, standing in the doorway. He gave him a soft smile. "Good evening Harrison."
The butler smiled and gave him a bow. "Good evening your grace. I do apologize for disturbing you, but a young lady by the name of Miss Eau Claire is here to speak with you."
James felt the fire explode to his cock again, and he thought the urge to run downstairs and take Camille into his arms right then and there. He took a deep breath. "Where is Miss Eau Claire?"
Harrison. "She is in the parlor your grace."
Taking another deep breath to calm himself down, James gave Harrison a soft smile before straightening his shoulders and making his way downstairs to the parlor. Camille was here, in his home. She was wanting to speak to him. But about what?
Camille was waiting for him in the parlor, as Harrison had told him. Her gorgeous body was dazzling in a deep red off the shoulder silk gown with a sweetheart neckline and a corset back. Her hair was fixed into a side bun with curls dancing along her left shoulder. Her eyes were bright and shining. She gave him a soft smile. "Good evening my love. I do hope I didn't come at a bad time."
Smiling, James shook his head and walked towards her. "Not at all my darling. I'm glad to see you. What brings you here?"
Camille gave him a soft kiss as their lips met, sliding her arms around his neck as she felt his arms intertwine around her waist. There was something she needed to tell him, a secret that was burning into her body like wildfire. Taking a deep breath, she came away from her beloved and stared at him. "James, ma cherie, i've been keeping a secret from you."
James became tense. "Well, that makes two of us. Because I've been keeping a secret from you as well."
Camille swallowed hard. "Do you wish to tell your secret first or should I?"
James. "Why don't you?"
Taking a deep breath, Camille disentangled herself from his arms and took a few steps back. She had no idea how the Duke of York was going to react when she exposed herself to him. Was he going to be frightened? Would he believe her to be repulsive and no longer want to marry her?
Before James could ask what was wrong, he felt his body spring to life as he saw her face beginning to change. Her eyes became dark red, her skin the same cream and pink complexion as his. Her canines elongated, exposing on either side of her lips. So this was her secret. He didn't need to change her after all. She was a vampire, just like him.
