people pleaser

voicing a joke
to needy ears
and receiving
a gratifying snicker
only for you to
turn your back
to mutter how
distasteful i was
when will i give you enough?

caste system - 10.24.22

i am your subordinate
that is the way it has been
and always will be
but i sometimes wish that
this shameful caste system
could change
im tired of feeling lesser
stupid and untalented
a rank below.
please give me a chance
to show my worth
and pry myself
out of my untouchable
ranking.

that "the voices of reason"
will never try to
