what should i call it
your laugh was like a record player
the air felt like it was
moving faster than usual
your eyes were like looking
into the top of a syrupy candle
your skin was perfect
so soft and sprinkled with
stories of a life i want to know everything about
your lips were so enticing
your smile making my heart heave
your touch that pulled me
out of my own head
i wanted to tell you everything
that i had thought that night
but i couldn't find the words to say it
my throat swelling with resistance
so i bit my tongue
but it will never go away
in all of my actions and all of my words
i say what i mean and mean what i say
and i will always try to make up for my silence
in everything i do for you and with you
so scared of a place where im wanted
but you make it feel like a home
