"W-why?" I ask while finally squirming free.

"Just asking for a friend, no reason," he smiles and sits back down. That was weird. After studying, Rylie drives me home. The entire drive was silent and awkward.

"Same time tomorrow? We can work on math next," Rylie says while parking in front of my house.

"Sounds good to me," As I try to open the door, he locks it.

"What's wrong?" I ask while turning to him. Rylie smiles at me and then leans closer.

"Rylie?" I ask while freezing up.

"Hm?" he responds while staying close to me.

"What are you doing?" I look up into his eyes but he's not looking at my eyes. Rylie just sighs and hugs me. I can't handle him being all touchy! My body can only fight it so much. I hug back slightly while scooting my waist to the door as I can feel my pants tighten around me. Rylie just chuckles and lets go.

"Thank you," he says while unlocking the doors. I nod my head and bolt inside the house and to my room. My heart feels like it's going to burst out of my chest. I glance down at my pants and sigh. It'll go down later. The second I lay down on my bed, there was a knock on my door.

"Come in," I say while nuzzling into my pillow. Moments later, Annie walks in with some cheerios and closes the door behind her.

"Are you okay?" she asks while sitting on the edge of my bed. I sit up and turn to her.

"Of course, why?" I respond and she shrugs.

"You ran to your room the second you came home, did studying end that badly?" she asks while petting June my cat who just randomly decided to show up.

"No, it was fine, just have a lot on my mind," I smile and pick up June.

"Well if you want to talk about it, I'll listen," she smiles while ruffling my hair. "Till then, sleep well," she gets up and walks out of my room. I sigh and cuddle up with June who purrs in response.

The next morning rolls around and I'm woken up by a loud clap of thunder. God, I hate storms. I sigh while I get to my feet and change into my normal sweats and a tee shirt for school and walk down to the kitchen for my daily muffin. Annies is already at the table, on her phone texting her boyfriend probably. Marcus is chugging some coffee and eating some toast.

"Morning guys," I say while grabbing my muffin.

"Morning Hunter!" Annie gives me a tight hug. Marcus waves at me and finishes his coffee.

"Marcus, can we talk?" He just looks up at me from his mug and nods. As we both walk to the living room, Marcus sets his empty mug on an end table.

"Look I'm sorry, I'm not trying to get close to Rylie and I'm not trying to turn him gay or anything, he's hanging out with me if it bugs you that much I'll tell him to leave me alone," he probably doesn't care to hear this but I still need to say it. Marcus just listens silently and waits for me to finish before ruffling my hair.

"I should be apologizing, not you, so I'm sorry, I have nothing against you being gay or wanting to hang out with my friends it's just he's not that good of a guy, okay? You're my brother and I don't want you hurt. Especially by him, got it?" he smiles and I smile in return. After a bit, Annie yells at us from the kitchen that we have to leave so we rush and grab our bags and out the door. The ride to school wasn't that awkward and I'm glad I cleared things up with Marcus. Once we got to school, Annie gave us a big hug before running off to her friends and Marcus walked off to his, leaving me by myself. But that didn't last long.

"Hey, you're Hunter, right?" I turn to see a guy around my age with dark brown, curly hair and hazel eyes. He's pretty good-looking, I'll admit but he's not better than Rylie.

"Who wants to know?" I turn to face him fully and he smiles just enough to show he has dimples. Cute.

"Right, where are my manners? My name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick, and the principal assigned me to be your shadow for the day since I'm transferring to the school soon," he continues to smile and I nod my head.

"Oh okay, well nice to meet you," I smile softly and lead him inside. As I'm walking to my locker, I can't help but feel like I'm being watched by someone other than Nick. Nick stands behind me while I open my locker. I put my things in my locker and grab my items for class. As I start walking away, someone swings their arm around my shoulder and yanks me to them. I glance up to see Rylie.

"Hey there Hunter, you have a puppy following you. Why's that?" his deep voice sends chills down my spine but I move his arm off my shoulders.

"His name is Nicholas, and he's not a puppy," I look at Nick who's looking Rylie up and down, and chuckled to himself. What's that all about? Is he intimidated or sizing him up?

"Nice to meet you, as Hunter said, my name is Nicholas," he holds his hand out for Rylie to shake. Rylie shakes Nick's hand very harshly as the two glare at each other. Well this just got awkward.

(AN: Well what do we have here? Possible love triangle? Maybe not? Only time will tell. :) )
