New was asleep on the couch next to Kuea’s bed. It had been 2 weeks since Kuea was poisoned. The antidote had done its job of removing all the poison from his blood stream, but he was still unconscious. The doctor has said that Kuea was still weak and needed to rest and recover. When New came back from school, he’d go straight to Kuea’s room and stay beside him, just like he was doing now.

Maria walked into the room, gently smiling when he saw both of her boys asleep. She walked over to where New was laying and shook him.

“New! New, son. You need to wake up. There’s dinner downstairs.” Maria gently stroked New’s hair as he stirred, opening his eyes and stretching.

“Mum? What time is it?” New was still sleepy so his eyes were puffy. Maria giggled as she saw how her son was trying to come to his senses and then sat up.

“It’s noon and I said there’s dinner downstairs, Kuea won’t go anywhere.” Maria said as she saw how New was looking at his little brother.

“I know. I just want to be the first person he sees when he wakes up.” New’s gaze was soft as he looked at Kuea. He’s really missed his little brother. New kissed Kuea on the forehead before walking out of the room, leaving Maria and Kuea alone in the room.

“Oh my darling boy. I think you’ve slept enough. Please come back to us.” Maria had Kuea’s hands in hers and was rubbing them together. She could feel a tear roll down her face as she looked at her son’s sleeping face.

*Flashback*

“I need to ask for a favor. I need all of the CCTV camera footage from the birthday party. We think that we might be able to identify the culprit who drugged the young master.” Porche was speaking with his friend who was the head of security at Zee’s birthday party.

“No problem meung. I’ll send them to you now. Might take a while, but you should have them all by tonight.” Porche thanked his friend and hung up.

“What did he say?” Kinn was beside Porche.

“He said we’d be able to have them all by tonight. We can check the footage then.” Porche rubbed his forehead for the nth time, feeling anxious. Kinn could tell that his boyfriend was stressed. After the young master had collapsed, Kinn knew that Porche would be blaming himself.

“Hey! It’ll be alright. We’ll get the CCTV footage and then we’ll figure out who did this. And this isn’t your fault, so stop beating yourself up.” Kinn, who was massaging Porche’s shoulders, wanted Porche to know that he wasn't alone and that everyone was working hard to find the culprit.

“Thanks babe.” Porche gave a half hearted smile, still feeling anxious yet was grateful for the support from his other half. Ever since the incident, Kinn had never left Porche’s side and he was grateful for it.

*10 hours later*

“There! Right there.” Porche, Barcode, Pete and Jay were all huddled together in front of the PC screen, rewatching all the events that happened that night. Barcode had just spotted the waiter that spilled the drink on Kuea.

“That’s the guy. Phi, zoom into his hand.” Jay, who was more tech savvy, zoomed into the waiter's right hand and they saw that he was indeed holding a needle.

“I think they used one of those TSK invisible needles, which was why Khun Kuea didn’t feel anything and there was no bleeding as well.” Barcode quickly informed everyone. “Look, he used the towel to hide the needle and when he wiped Kuea’s jacket, he stuck the needle in his left arm.” It was, just as Barcode said.

“This was well planned. He knew where to face, so the camera was only getting his back.” Pete pointed out, which caused Porche to groan.

“Phi, at least we know how it happened. We need to inform Khun Tik.” Porche nodded his head, agreeing with Pete. Porche stood up and walked out of the room to ring their leader.

“Phi, take a look at this.” Jay had noticed something.

“What is it?” Both Pete and Barcode’s head smashed into the side of Jay’s face, causing him to wince in pain and looking at both men with annoyance. Pete and Barcode sheepishly smiled at Jay, apologizing for causing pain. Jay rolled his eyes and pointed his cursor at the waiter's neck.

“Does that look like a tattoo?” Pete cocked his head to the side to try and recognise the tattoo.

“It looks like a symbol of some kind. Can you zoom in a bit more?” Jay rolled his cursor even more, causing the image to become distorted.

“Let me run it through my imaging processor and I’ll let you know when it’s done.” Pete and Barcode nodded their heads as they also walked out of the room.

“Phi, this feels like an attack. I don’t think that what happened was an accident. This feels like a message, or like a warning.” What Barcode saw wasn’t sitting well with him. After watching the security footage, his mind went back to that night. He remembered the guy had bangs that hung low over his eyes and they were dyed blond, but he couldn’t take a good look at the guy's face.

“This is serious. I need to call Vegas.” Pete could feel anxiety rush through his body when he heard what the younger one had said. This was not good. Who would dare do such a thing? Pete pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Vegas’s number.

“Hello?”

“We found the guy that did it.”

*End of flashback*

Kuea gently opened his eyes. His throat felt like it was on fire and his whole body felt stiff. What happened?

“Mum! He’s waking up! He’s waking up!” New had felt Kuea’s fingers move, but thought that his mind was playing tricks with him, until he saw Kuea trying to open his eyes.

Maria rushed into the room when she heard New yell out, with Khun Tik and Aunty Ja following behind. Everyone gathered around the bed to witness the youngest master wake up. Kuea’s vision was still blurry but he smiled as he recognised everyone there.

“Aunty Ja, please contact the doctor and ask him to come home at once.” Aunty Ja bowed her head as she did what was commanded of her.

“Hello doctor? Please come to the Perdpiriyawong mansion at once. Khun Nu Kuea has woken up.” Aunty Ja thanked the doctor and hung up.

“Kuea, how are you feeling?” Maria was kneeling beside the bed, thanking Buddha for giving her, her son back.

Kuea wanted to speak, but he found it hard to conjure noise, let alone words from his mouth.

“I think he needs some water. I’ll go and get a water bottle with a straw, so he can take it.” Aunty Ja exited the room, leaving the Perdpiriyawong family to have a moment together.

“Oh my boy, I am so sorry this happened to you. But I promise you, that we will catch the person who did this. They will pay for what they did.” Kuea smiled and nodded his head as he looked up and saw his family there and together.
