Deanera Velaryon was introduced as the first child of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Leanor Velaryon. She was born eight full moons after their wedding. A beautiful baby girl with white hair and fair skin. It was a silent secret that the father of princess Deanera is Daemon Targaryen, uncle of princess Rhaenyra and brother of King Viserys I. Leanor took the girl in as his own, as same as he took later on Jacaerys, Lucearys and Joffrey. The boys were younger and the father of them was Ser Harwin Strong.
The birth of a healthy baby girl was a true celebration for the realm as King Viserys I was infatuated by his granddaughter. It was also a public secret that King Viserys truly only loved his daughter Rhaenyra whom he had together with his first wife Aemma. Because of that his granddaughter who so much resembled his own daughter was a delight for him. She resembled both his late wife and daughter.
Daenera was born about a year later after Queen Alicent, the second wife of Kind Viserys, had given birth to her third child and second son Aemond Targaryen.
The children of princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent at first had gotten along while playing and spending time in the palace gardens. Though as time passed and the seed of hatred began blooming between the two women so did the same happen between their children. Less disrespect was shown towards princess Deanera from the boys as she was a pretty girl and the only one looking like a true Targaryen. Also, the boys had to admit that when the rogue prince himself, Daemon Targaryen would visit his brother, his presence terrified the young princes. Daemon would always find time to spend with little princess Deanera and when he would take her in his arms everyone would see how the young princess resembled him as well. These were the only moments when you could see the usually rough prince being gentle. Still no one dared to say a word aloud about the princess being his daughter. In other words a bastard child of princess Rhaenyra.
All the characters mentioned in this book are resembled the same as in the TV series. I do not own the images.
