Thankfully he missed her but hit the frozen lake. Causing it to crack and break. (L/N) went still from the floor beneath her breaking. She froze in place. Looking up at the man. And me.

With the newfound distraction. I was able to—once again— tackle the man. Breaking his hand and grabbing the gun for myself.

"As Chief Investigator, I place you under arrest for the assignation attempt of miss (Y/N)(L/N)." The man looked as if he was about to flee, his muscles tense. As soon as he took that first step, I shot him in the thigh. Missing the femoral artery.

"Ahhhh, shit!" He curses and swears. Crumbling down to hold in his pain and blood. I put—-his gun— in my coat jacket.

     PuruPuru PuruPuru Kachank

"Sabo! Where are you? I've been ringing for you for the last twenty minutes."

"Kolby, where are you? I've apprehended the hit man and I have miss (L/N) in my sights."

     "I'm on Red Line St."

"Get over here to Shabody Lake."

"Sabo!" miss (L/N) calls out. When I look over at her. The ice around her starts to crack and break.

"Don't move!" I look down at the ice underneath my feet. It looked better than her situation. "I want you to slowly make your way to me and I'll meet you in the middle." I hadn't seen peace in her eyes once this night. And that thought pained me.

She nods her head and begins slowly walking my way. The ice slowly cracks underneath her as she goes. "I- I don't think I'll be able to do it."

"You can do it. Just stay calm and keep going. She pauses for a moment before slowly continuing her journey. The ice under her feet cracks little by little as she moves closer to me. Movement behind me calls my attention. It was the man chasing miss (L/N). He had hidden another gun in his possession. A heavy amount of blood pools around his leg. He aims the gun back at miss (L/N). but instead of shooting his bullet at her flesh. He aims it at her feet. Missing herself but completely shattering the ice. It was the last thing he could do as he fell backward. Passing out from blood loss. Now, however, miss (Y/N) was completely submerged under the water and sinking.

"Miss (L/N)!" With little time. I rush over to where she is submerged. It looks like the shock from the cold knocked her out completely. With hast, I threw off my winter coat and shoes. If I wasn't quick, She'd die from frostbite. The drastic change in temperature from jumping into the lake almost rendered me unconscious. Luckily— though I bite my tongue at the idea of ever associating warm feelings with it— serving in the military taught my body what it actually meant to experience cold. From standing in the nude with your brothers on drum island for hours on end. To dancing with the flames at punk hazard.

Miss (L/N) was sinking closer and closer to the body. It wasn't for a few seconds later that I could wrap my arms around her body and start swimming back to the surface. The sound of breaking the surface reminded my body of how cold it was. Gently, I place her body against the ice. It looked as if she was still unconscious.

"Sabo!" I whip my head over to where the shore was. Kolby was tumbling down the snowy hill with a worried look on his face.

"Kolby! Call an ambulance!]" He looks between the young miss and the assassin with a pale face. I could only hear him mumble some words before rushing to pull out the transponder snail.

Now that I had the ambulance on the way. I redirected my attention to the miss. Placing my cheek next to her mouth and nose. I realized, she wasn't breathing. Fuck. I need to clear her airways. If she dies, I lose the names of those bodies and the prime suspect's name.
