Heartbreak Girl: 5 Seconds of Summer

~Calum~
( I'm using the name 'Vanessa' as the character )

He treats you so bad and I'm so good to you, it's not fair

"I don't know why I stay with him sometimes!" Vanessa exclaimed into her phone. Her best friend, Calum Hood, was on the other end, listening to her rant.

"He doesn't listen, he doesn't care about anything I do, all he wants is to make out in front of his stupid friends!"

Vanessa heard Calum give off a sigh, making her question if he was listening. It was so easy for her to talk to him, and, no one knew, but she had had a crush on him for the past few months. But she had a boyfriend...a sucky boyfriend.

"Cal? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, continue."

She smiled, "Thank you for being a great friend, Calum. I'll call you tomorrow around ten."

"Okay, later, Nessa."

The line went dead and Calum was no longer there.

It was rumored that Calum like her, but she knew that would never be true. They were only friends..in a way, she was friend-zoned.

But everything seemed to change about two weeks after that phone call. Vanessa broke up with her boyfriend after he made a move that she wasn't ready for, and the fact that Calum was the only person on her mind.

As she turned on the radio, she heard the DJ mention Calum's band, 5 Seconds of Summer, and she smiled.

"5 Seconds of Summer just released a new song called Heartbreak Girl, lets take a listen,"

The guitar solo came on as Vanessa sat down on the edge of her bed, phone in hand,

You call me up
It's like a broken record
Saying that your heart hurt
And you'll never get over him getting over you
And you end up crying, and I end up lying
'Cause I'm just a sucker for anything that you do
And when the phone call finally ends, you say,
"I'll call you tomorrow at ten"
And I'm going in circles again and again

Vanessa froze at the words.

I'll call you tomorrow at ten...

The chorus came and the second verse stared...

I'm stuck in the friend-zone again and again...

"Calum!" She exclaimed before turning on her phone, but a knock on the door interrupted her. With her phone up to her ear, as she called Calum, she ran to answer the door.

She turned the knob to see her best friend in the door way,

"Did you listen to the new-"

She tackled him in a hug and kissed his cheek,

"Yes, I did."
