the next few weeks consisted of reki trying to teach langa how to skate. he taught him all the basics like how to get comfortable on the board and how to turn, stuff like that. you decided to tag along because you were bored and curious about langa. you offered suggestions here and there but mostly just watched or practiced your own tricks. after just two weeks langa nailed an ollie. another thing that gave you the same weird feeling you had when you first watched langa skate. why wouldn't it though? it took you two and a half months to do a perfect ollie and this guy did it in two weeks.

langa told reki he used to snowboard in Canada, and that he'd been doing it for fifteen years. obviously nailing an ollie shouldn't be hard for someone with fifteen years of experience on a snowboard. although snowboarding and skateboarding have their clear differences, there were also tons of similarities and that explained why langa was already doing so good with skating. still, the way langa learned so fast left a lump in your throat.

today you were hanging out at dopesketch, reki was telling his boss about langa nailing an ollie in just two weeks, and you were browsing the store, even though you knew you weren't gonna buy anything. the bell at the door went off, signaling someone had just walked in the store. you couldn't see the door from the isle you were in, but you didn't feel the need to look until you heard reki's shocked voice.

"no frickin way. japanese national hopeful, miya chinen!?"

you walked out of the isle to get a look at the person who just walked through the door, since reki's shock told you this guy was not your everyday customer. there was a boy standing there, he had black hair and emerald green eyes. he had a sailor like uniform, which you assumed was his school uniform, and a skateboard with a purple outline on his back, along with his backpack. he looked to be about the same age as you. he looked kinda cute, and very cocky at the same time.

"there you are, i want to run a beef against you in 'S'" the boy said.

"a beef? thats so random, but okay," reki said with a cheesy smirk.

"i wasn't talking to you, slime." the boy said bluntly. you tried to stifle your laughter but your slight giggle caused the attention to shift to you.

"sorry.." you mumbled, looking down with a smile and ignoring reki's glare.

reki's attention shifted back to the boy, "you called me a what?!"

"i need a challenge, it's been a while since i've leveled up," the boy said to langa, completely ignoring reki. the way he talked about skateboarding like it was a video game interested you, maybe he was a gamer. "are you in?"

reki looked at langa seriously, "don't even think about it, he's in a totally different class."

"i heard your actually a snowboarder, is that right? very fascinating. i'd love to see how you managed to beat shadow." the boy continued.
