Persephone searched the room for her parents, frantically.

She found them standing around one of the tables, talking to Regulus' parents.
she walked up to them in a hurry trying to make herself seen, without having to interrupt them.

"Persephone? What is it?" Her mother spoke up, putting on a fake voice.

"I'm sorry for interrupting," She started looking between the four of them, and then back to her parents, "but I really need to talk to you."

"My apologies, Walburga." Her mother said, before turning to her. They followed the troubled out the room, to talk somewhere more private.

"What do you want?" Her father asked in a serious voice.

"Why didn't you tell me I was to get married!?"

Her mother sighed, looking at her father. "It's for the best, Persephone."

"For the best? I don't know him! I don't love him."
Persephone replied, raising her voice.

"It doesn't matter if you love him or not!" her mother yelled, "Continuing our bloodline is the main priority."

"But mother-" before she's able to finish her sentence, she gets cut off by her mother slapping her.

"When will you learn not to argue with me? It has already been decided. I am not allowing you to end up like your brother."

"Mom, please!" She half closed her eyes, struggling to keep them seeing through the tears, she only opened her eyes fully when her mothers bony, shallow hand reached out and pulled her face into her hands. Persephone tried to get out of her grasp but it didn't work. Her grip on her jaw was so tight, one turn and she could have caused her even more pain.

"You will marry by next year," Algea, her mother,
told her lowly. "You will marry and you will be the happiest wife in this world. You won't complain because you will remind yourself of just how grateful you are to even be considered for someone. You will do as your husband asks, and you will cease this obstruct behaviour."

"Fine."

Algea took her jaw from her grasp, leaving the room.

As she's left alone standing in the middle of the empty room, she can feel myself starting to tear up.
Her knees start to get weak, and her hands start to shake. She turns to sit down on the stairs, which stood behind her.

Carefully, she sits on the lowest step, grasping onto the wooden railing. she shuts her eyes desperately wishing for this to stop.

"Fortis?"

Persephone opens her eyes to find Regulus Black crouching down in front of her, "hey, breathe alright? In and out." He said, gently.
She shakes her head and buries it in her face from embarrassment.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." She replies, standing up. "We ought to get going back to the party before anyone sees us."

He looks back at her, confusion spreading across his face from the sudden change of emotion. He nods, unsure, but they go back, the whole night still ahead of them. They don't speak again, but there's a sense of understanding between them, that they don't know about yet.

It's the morning of her 6th year at Hogwarts, and she couldn't be happier to go back. It's been two weeks since she found out that she is engaged. Their parents made plans for them to get married as soon as it is possible. She tries not think about it.

Persephone grabs her trunk, and heads downstairs, ready to leave.

Platform 9¾ will always stay the same. No matter how early or late you get there it is always packed with frantic students running to their friends and saying goodbye to their parents.

For Persephone it will always be a place of relief. Finally, being able to leave her parents, and not having to attend the death eater meetings.

"Now, before you get on, remember. Don't interact with anyone below yourself. Our family is one of the most respected in the Wizarding world. You are to take pride in that." Her mother said, sternly. "Understand?"

"Yes, mother." she replied, eager to finally go.

"Alright. You may go."

She picked up her trunk and headed over towards the train, a grin spreading across her face.

"We were starting to think you weren't going to show."
She turned around to see Remus Lupin, standing behind her with a warm a smile on his face. Her smile got bigger, as she went up to hug him.

"Alright, come on, we're this way." He laughed.

"Sephie! You finally decided to show."

Persephone smiled, sitting down next to Remus and across from James.

"How was your summer? Anything happen?" James asked, eagerly.

Persephone hesitated if to tell them what happened, "Nah, not much, just the usual pure-blood stuff." she said, nervously, bringing her hand to the back of her neck.

They spent the rest of the ride to Hogwarts laughing and stuffing out faces with sweets from the trolly.

This felt right. This right here is where she wanted to spend the rest of her life.
