"Alright guys, wrap it up!" Coach W yelled, causing us all stop the conditioning drill we had been doing for the past hour.

"Thank God." Cole wheezed, flopping down on the ice and sliding towards his water bottle like a penguin.

"Caufield! Stop disappointing your mother from a distance." Coach said back to him, shaking his head before walking off the ice.

"Leave Kelly out of this." He moaned, Pat pulling him up to his feet.

We made our way back into the locker room, and I was bouncing on my heels as I showered and changed, trying to look calm when I knew what was coming. I flipped my wet hair with my fingers, tuning out the locker room chirping to grab my phone.

Remember I'm a chivalrous guy

Caroline loved "Remember I'm a chivalrous guy"

"Z, you good?" Jack's voice pulled me up from my phone screen and back into the locker room.

"Yeah. Did you need something?" I asked, tucking my phone into my pocket.

"A few of the guys are coming back to mine to play League and stuff, you comin?" He asked.

"Not today Rowdy. Can't." I reached for my keys, hoping he wouldn't prod for any information.

"Not today? What do you mean not today? What could you possibly be doing that's more important than League?"

Oh I don't know Jack, maybe going on a date with the girl of my dreams?

"Some of us actually have life goals Hughesy, I have shit to do. I'll come by later, you fools are always there." I shrugged him off and headed out to my truck, drumming my fingers against the steering wheel. I parked in the "Plymouth Depot" parking lot, waiting for Caroline to arrive. My heart fluttered at the sight of her gray Chevvy Equinox, the car that didn't get much drive time because of Johnny's truck. I jumped out of the car and headed over to her spot, waiting for her to shut off the ignition. I opened the door for her, not being able to resist the smile that being around her brought out in me.

"Hey." I breathed, not realizing I hadn't taken a breath since I saw her.

"You are chivalrous." She laughed in reference to the death grip I had on her door handle. "How was practice Ziggy?"
