Well, the cat's out of the bag.
It's been about two weeks since the epic Beecher family driveway makeup session and I have never, ever been happier. The sneaking around was hot, don't get me wrong, but it's even better to kiss her in public.
I walked into the cafeteria and headed over to our usual table where Case was flipping a cup around with furrowed brows.
"Mac, do I wanna know?" I laughed as I sat down.
"I'm trying to do the cup song, but I can't figure it out." He explained, not breaking focus on the cup. My shoulders sagged in laughter as he tried once again, causing Vlasic to slam his hands down on the table.
"Jesus Case, it's like this." Vlasic snatched the cup and expertly performed the rhythm, and Case's eyes widened in shock.
"How did you do that?" Case asked dumbfounded.
"I've fucking seen Pitch Perfect, Case. So shut the fuck up and eat your turkey." He declared, sliding the cup off the table and onto the floor.
"Littering is bad for the planet!" Elena said as her and Caroline approached the table, and I knew I was smiling like a fucking idiot at the sight of her. I can't control my face around that girl.
"Hi." She smiled, sliding into her seat next to me and leaning her head onto my shoulder. I pecked the top of her head, and I love doing that in front of our friends. Johnny doesn't even bat an eye at it anymore which is such a relief. It killed me knowing Care and him were having issues and it was because of me and our relationship. Easy conversation fell over the group regarding our Friday night plans, and tonight was an important night for Miss Cheer Captain Elena.
"It's the Knights game tonight, you guys have to come. It's time for your ultimate school spirit to shine through because their student section is fucking brutal. Last year, some middle schoolers through a ketchup soaked tampon at us." Elena shuddered at the memory. "Traumatizing."
"A ketchup soaked tampon? Seriously?" Jack said in shock, his mouth falling open. "Someone took the time and energy to do that? For a little prank?"
"You can't talk Rowdy. Let's not forget who somehow obtained chickens for prank night!" Turcs interjected, waving his arms frantically. The kid has yet to move on from the mystery poultry.
"You're gonna kill the kid. Just tell us where you got the chickens." I laughed, gently tickling Caroline as I talked causing her to laugh too.
"That's one secret I'll never tell." Jack said with raised eyebrows, waiting for someone to pick up his joke.
"You know you love me." Elena chimed in, leaning forward on her elbows towards him.
"Xoxo..." He trailed off.
"Gossip Girl." They fist bumped over the table. How have these two not figured out their shit yet?
I glanced down to my beautiful girlfriend who was wrapped up in my arm who was giving me a look. A look that read, 'Can you get your best friend to make a move on my best friend so we can all die happy?' I nodded back to her and stifled a laugh as the two best friends in question blushed at each other across the table.
"Student section theme?" Cole asked through a mouthful of stuffing.
"Jerseys. Doesn't matter what kind of jersey, just jerseys. Easy enough." Elena replied, digging into her own lunch as the conversation turned to hockey after the attire was sorted out. Nothing was out of the ordinary, until another face joined the table. Finn Reilly shoved himself at the end of the table right next to Elena, draping his arm over her shoulder. The whole table went quiet at the outsider's presence, who nonchalantly started a conversation with our cheerleader.
