Florence took the whole last day to accustom to her new situation, but Hailee and I kept her close to us, giving the needing comfort as best as we could. We both went to set yesterday, to just be with her. And she's a bit quiet, probably even sad, but it's only because of the past events. I can't imagine how hard the situation for her is right now. Being abused by her boyfriend? Too much for my little brain.

It's still early morning, the girls are sipping the coffee at the table, while I cook breakfast for them. Omelette with cheese and tomatoes. That's why I'm trusted with it, it's simple and Florence is watching me intensely.

But when the food is done and I'm about to put it on plates, the doorbell rings, making us all turn to the sound. Hailee decides to stand up and open the door, so I continue my job, waiting to hear who's on the other side.

"Jayden!" A panicked voice erupts in the apartment, so I leave the food and run quickly to the brunette. I freeze when I see two police officers standing there.

"What's going on?" I ask confused, walking behind my best friend.

"Are you Jayden Swift?" The female officer asks and I furrow my brows, nodding slowly.

"Yes? What's this about?"

"Jayden Swift, you're under the arrest for assault and possible kidnapping. Please put shoes, jacket on and stand up against the wall" She tells me and my breath hitches, while Hailee gasps.

"W-What?" I breathe out, gulping hard. "What do you mean? Kidnapping? I didn't kidnap anyone-"

"Please, if you could just go with us and explain it. We don't want to use force" The other officer, male one, says impatiently.

"What's going out?" Florence speaks up from behind us and we all look at the blonde. "Jay?" She asks when she notices Hailee next to the door with cheeks stained with tears.

"Are you Florence Pugh?" The man questions and Flo nods in an agreement. "We got notification about your missing and possible kidnapping. Are you alright, miss?"

"What? Of course, I am" The blonde chuckles and then it hits me. Zach had to press the charges against me, but laying about Florence being kidnapped by me? Low blow. "What's happening?"

"If you both could go with us, so we could explain everything, please" The woman repeats after her partner and I gulp hard again as I move to grab my jacket and puts my shoes on.

"I- Guys, it's crazy. Jayden didn't do anything wrong" Hailee tries to explain, standing in front of me.

"Ma'am, please step back and let us do our work. Even if, miss Pugh is here voluntarily, we still have to arrest her for assault"

"Them. Not her, them" Hailee hisses and I smile sadly at her before I stand against the wall like they wanted. The man instantly stands behind me and pulls my hands behind my back with handcuffs. "Hey! Do you really have to cuff them?" She jumps into defending mode.

"Ma'am, please step back" He says sternly and I feel fear suddenly when his tone changed.

"Lee, stop. It's fine. They're doing their job" I assure the brunette gently even if my voice is shaky. The man cuffs my hands and I force myself not to release a whine at how tight he does it. "Call Tree, okay? She'll call my lawyer and gets me out of there" I ask her pleadingly as I'm being tugged backwards.

I look at my side and Hailee nods in agreement, so I smile reassuringly to her. I also notice Florence dressed into her own coat and boots, waiting with red, puffy eyes and watching how I'm taking by the police officer.
