The smell of coffee is strong and makes me alert the moment I walk in.

"Morning Geoff. How are you?" I ask sweetly. Geoff was my favorite and he definitely laid it on thick when he tried to hit on me whenever he was working.

"Good morning beautiful. You look a little sad today?"

"Great, so my forehead apparently reads ' my boyfriend cheated on me with a slut'?"

"Oh, shit I'm so sorry to hear that." I can tell he means it. "Does that mean I might finally have a shot with you?" He smiles excited and I roll my eyes.

" I haven't decided what I am going to do. Anyways, I'll take my usual Geoff." I smile back. Luckly, he drops the conversation as my friends come in and order their drinks.

"Please let this heal my black soul." I lift the Pines coffee up to my lips and take a sip. We are sitting at our normal table on the patio. I still felt like shit, but I managed to pull myself together today. I have yet to talk to Marcus about the events that happened Friday night. He got the message loud and clear when I ignored him all weekend. It was monday though. I was going to have to face him.

"So." Taylor starts and looks over at Alexis. I look between them confused.

"What is it?" I ask irritated.

" Marcus called me yesterday. He sounded really bad. Like he was crying. He was trying to explain what happened. I'm sure he knew it would get back to you if he told me."

Coward. Goes to my friends instead of me.

"So let's hear it." I roll my eyes and take another sip.

"He said he was super drunk and they played kiss and blow at the end of the night. Tess was the one that dropped the card and purposely wanted to kiss him."

"Of course she did." I snort.

"But Marcus said nothing happened. He went to bed and passed out. Alone and when he woke up she was in his bed half naked and he threw her out. He said nothing happened past that kiss." We are silent for a minute.

"It would be something Tess would do. Try to pose and make it look like more happened than what really did." Taylor says.

"I don't know what to believe." I say annoyed. " We should go." I say looking down at my phone and wishing to god I had the flu and stayed home.

Everyone is looking at me. I mean like gawking. It is embarrassing. I try to act like I don't notice but it is very, very obvious that the whole school has seen the video. My heart drops when I turn the corner and see Marcus leaning against the wall to my classroom. His hands are crossed over his chest and I can see he is chewing the inside of his cheek, something he always does when he is nervous.

"Do you want me to say something?" Taylor asks, sensing that I have slowed down. The one minute bell goes off and he looks up in that moment catching sight of us. Relief floods his face. He springs over to us.

"No, I've got this." I say before they both head into class saying nothing more.

"Alana, what the fuck?"

"Really? What the fuck?" I say harshly.

"Babe, you wont even let me explain what happened. I've been calling you all weekend. I swear on my fucking life nothing happened past that stupid kiss." He runs a hand through his hair frustrated.

"I'm not ready to talk to you Marcus. I think I made that pretty fucking clear." I say brushing past his shoulder. He doesn't give up though. He turns and grips my arm before I enter that class.
