After Guinevere's heated discussion with Queen Eliana and her mother, Guinevere decided to leave the matter with her mother unresolved, for she was too peeved to bring it up. Besides, she still had to attend the ball with Christopher, a total stranger, so there were obviously other frustrating topics in her mind.

It is the day of the Royal Ball

"Maria I can't find it!" "Well where did you put it last?" Maria asked, trying to help out Guinevere.  "I'm not sure, but I remember the last time I saw it was when Queen Eliana came to visit," Guinevere slightly shouted as she was scavenging through her closet.

"I don't want to impose, but don't you find it quite odd that your tiara disappeared right after Queen Eliana left?" questioned Maria. "Well of course I thought of that, but she never went up to my room that day, so I don't see how that would be possible," answered Guinevere. "I suppose that makes sense, but you never know who could be on Queen Eliana's side," added Maria, with a mysterious tone. "Even if she does have it, that would only make it harder to retrieve, Maria. Besides, that would mean I would have to confide in my mother, and you know we're still not on good terms. Ugh! That whole family is complicating my life!" Guinevere roared out of frustration. "I understand your frustration M'lady, but to be fair, you haven't met Christopher yet, so how is he a problem?" Maria curiously asked Guinevere. "Oh I just know he is going to be this self-absorbed, stubborn person who just wants the title of King. I mean you know what they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Anyone related to that woman is automatically no friend of mine, or shall I say, husband," Guinevere exclaimed.

"Now Guinevere, you should not judge one's character firmly on who their mother is, well at least that is what I'm supposed to tell you. Though, I do partially agree with you. I mean that woman is extremely manipulative and awful, but don't tell your mother I said that," Maria added.

"Trust me, I think my mother is fully aware of that," Guinevere jokingly stated. "I think it is time you get dressed Guinevere. We only have four hours till the ball, and we have already wasted plenty of time looking for that tiara. I think we will just have to borrow one of your mother's, and don't worry, I will ask her for your sake. Though, you do have to talk to her some time during this century," Maria reminded the anxious princess.

Maria and the other maids had prepared a gown prior to the ball. They had made a stunning honeydew green dress with specks of shimmering gold throughout the entire dress. It had semi-long, almost transparent sleeves, and the skirt of the gown flowed all they way down to the floor.

Guinevere put on her ball gown and continued to add her other dazzling pieces of jewelry, that perfectly complement her outfit. Knock Knock. Guinevere heard a knock from her bedroom door, and opened it to her mother holding a tiara. "Now Guinevere before you say anything or slam the door on me, I just thought that we could resolve this situation before it gets worse tonight," Queen Anastasia nervously told her daughter. Guinevere let her mother enter even though it was the last subject she cared to discuss. "I never wanted you to find out about the Queen issue the way you did, but I really did talk to the other high powers, to try to change this law. Guinevere, I need you to believe me. Please," Queen Anastasia told Guinevere. "I know mother, but it would've been nice to have at least mentioned it to me before I'm almost about to be wedded with a complete stranger," responded Guinevere in an annoyed voice. "I really hope you come to forgive me, especially since it will all probably go down hill from here. Unless, this Christopher boy is not as bad as we think he his. Well that is it for now, but let me know if you need anything. Oh I almost forgot. The Queen handed Guinevere her tiara. Maria told me you needed this, and I thought you might as well keep it because a princess shouldn't have only one tiara. "Well I won't be a princess for long," Guinevere said with a frown on her face. "I really am sorry, truly," her mother said with deep remorse. "I know," responded Guinevere. The Queen exited the room.

Three hours later

"He's here!" yelled Maria. "I'm not ready!" Guinevere shouted back. "Your highness, you've been getting ready for four hours now, and I already saw you ten minutes ago with your whole outfit put together. Now, can you please head down stairs, you can't keep the carriage waiting forever Guinevere. "Fine." Guinevere bluntly responded.

The disinterested princess descended the stairs to the doorway, where she saw a man with golden locks of hair and deep blue eyes waiting for her at the door. Guinevere reminded herself that this man was purely awful and had no heart, but she was finding it rather difficult to comprehend the logistics behind that statement, due to the lack of repulsive physical features. The prince had a tall frame that most definitely threw off the princess, given that she was expecting an ugly and vertically challenged gnome. Although, some pieces of her rationality started to come back when she received a smug and mocking smirk from the prince, followed by, "Charmed are we princess?"
