Beep.
Beep.It's time once again.
Checking the time from the clock just beside you, you notice.
Witching hour. It's 4 am.Just as you were contemplating, the sounds of a car pulling into the parking lot makes itself known.
Looking just outside, he's back.
Just in time for his shift. The door rings as he enters once again, although from across the building you could smell a fragrance.
Did he put perfume on or something?
Shaking your head, you speak to him with his own words-"Your turn."
Switching out again, you sigh and look around for.. A bit..
Everything was disorganized again.
What.
Since when?
Did you even notice it?
Even the cashier seemed to notice your confusion.
"Don't forget to clean up before you go." He just speaks as he went behind the counter- taking your place and leaning forward on it once again; resting his head upon his arm. Was he watching?
Well, d.. Damn. Since.. Agh, nevermind. Back to cleaning.
You set the shelves properly back into place, aligned properly.
Careful not to slide it across the tiles.
You organize the contents of each shelf carefully.
Try not to get everything to fall. You mop the floor, slowly but surely...
The faint smell of what you believe to be rust is there once again.Everything was the same.
Since when did it change?
Did you not notice it?
What happened? Did you zone out?
Did you fall asleep?
But you had enough time to sleep.
What's going on?
Heading to the very back of one of the Isles, you hear.. Something.
A weird humming sound.
It looked kind of.. Moist around here.
Turning the corner, that's where you see.. Something.
Why. The. Fuck.
Is there a floating orb in the store?
No labels.
No barcode.
You grab it, expecting weight due to its size only for it to be as light as a feather- possibly lighter.
That's. . .
Not normal.
You walk back to your good ol cashier pal holding the orb.
"Is this supposed to be here?" You ask.
..
He looks at you oddly for a second taking it from you and holding it up seemingly presenting it to you, before speaking.
"Is this your first time seeing it?" He asks, almost seemingly dumbfounded that you didn't recognize what it was. Really? It's a pretty common object.Your first time seeing it? Did you miss it last time?
Before you could continue guessing, he continues speaking.
"It's a %*&(!)%&!. Put it back, please." -He cared to tell you what it was, atleast. You nod, listening to what he said before he hands it back to you.
Ah, that explains it.
Turning around, you walk through the isles once again and place it back where it was before, wondering why such an odd object was sold at such a *£-$╚○ convenience store.
Back to your job. Maybe you shouldn't approach such objects again.
You look around one last time, before waving goodbye to the cashier once again and leaving. He didn't even bat an eye.
Walking back down the road to your home, it was oddly quiet.
No crickets.
No wind.Looking up, the stars were nowhere to be seen.
There was yet only a black void.
....Maybe you should pay attention to where you're going before you get into an accident?
Looking back where you're going, you take a quick breath t-
...
...
...
......To not over think and... Keep walking down the void?
Blinking multiple times, you find yourself back on the road. Did you just forget to open your eyes?
Did you forget to look forward?
The wind was oddly calming this morning. The sun wasn't even visible on the horizon yet.
Maybe you were just zoning out- you thought, walking off.Stepping into your home, you close the door behind you.
You are still alone.
How long have you been living alone? The empty living room did not bother you. Walking through the hallway and into the only bedroom in the house, you get yourself changed.
Hanging your uniform in the closet, you then get into bed and open your phone to go searching. What were you doing? You were of course going to check out what the *#$(@!% was. Opening google and searching it up as you intended to, you finally find out what it did.
Apparently, it was a #(*@)!*% that ($)@!(%*)@! for #(@)!$() at home. Oooooooh. That's informative.
Closing google and sliding your phone back onto the dresser next to the bed, you lay in bed staring at the roof. Maybe you should go to sleep.
Good night.
Tomorrow is another day.......
......
......
......
......
Waking up, you grumpily open your eyes before closing them once again.
Sitting up grumpily, you slowly rub your eyes and get out of bed, standing up before opening your eyes.
Where are you?
You don't know where you are.
Stumbling backward, you find nothing but a black void. You are alone.
You are.
You are, right?
Are you?
A lone wooden table and a lone chair.
What is it now?You have a job to do.
I have something to attend to.
You just woke up, dammit.
What's going on now?
What the fuck is this?________________________________________________________________________________
I'm so sorry for taking so long. I procrastinated for full months. Quality may not be up to standard.
See you soon.
