Chapter 7: Going Behind Backs

At the gang's base Haru was ranting about his tea time experience with Akemi to Mika.

"Woah, Haru, calm down-" Mika said while placing the drinks on the center table. "You sure this is our Emi?" She asked unconvinced.

Haru rubbed his temples and replied,
"Yes Mika. She wouldn't listen to reason. Our Emi. won't. listen. to reason." Akio entered the living room.

"Ooh~ I haven't seen Haru this riled up since I accidentally bumped his lego Imperial Star Destroyer!" He exaggerated. Haru looked at him annoyed, while Mika giggled at the memory.

    "I will have you know that it took me all day to build that!" Haru yelled getting worked up. "Wait- THAT WAS YOU?!" He pointed his finger at Akio.
Akio froze while looking at him, "Oh shit- I never told you?" Akio tried playing it cool, Haru in the other hand looked like he was ready to kill Akio. "YOU BASTARD!" He exclaimed.

"BOYS!" Mika shouted, the two boys froze and looked at her. "Let's get back to the main topic, shall we?"
"Ehem, you're absolutely right Mika." Haru replied fixing his composure, and Akio sat down on a couch chair like the good boy he is.

"So, what exactly is Kisaki's plan? Don't you think Emi would consider all the variables?" Akio questioned while grabbing a scone.

"As far as Emi told me, Kisaki wants to get closer to Sano. Like a number two." Haru explained.
Mika placed a hand on her chin, "But isn't Draken-kun the number two?" She asked.

As Haru was about to answer but Akio cut him off. "So, correct me if I'm wrong but, Kisaki's plan is to remove Draken from the equation to get himself to the top?"

"Precisely." Haru concurred. "Let me also add his motive. According to Akemi, he's doing it for a girl. Now, Naturally it seems harmless but—"

Mika cut Haru off, "Kisaki's vibe is very different from the day Emi introduced him to us... not to mention, all the information our members have on him."
Haru nodded and Akio sighs as he leaned back on the chair. The three of them didn't say anything knowing exactly what different meant.

Mika looked at the males with a worried look.
"So, what are we going to do? Haru already tried reasoning with her but that didn't work."
They all sat silently, thinking of a solution.

"We go behind her back." Haru finally spoke up. Mika and Akio looked at him as if he were crazy.

"Are you out of your mind?" Akio retorted at Haru. "Not only is she our friend, she is our leader." He spoke sternly. "The fuck do you mean go behind her back?" Akio questioned harshly.

"We aren't betraying her! We're just looking out for her." Haru defended. Akio still glared at him while Mika felt uncomfortable with the idea. "Look, we all know Emi has a hard time with things like this. My idea is simply monitoring both Akemi and Kisaki during this whole thing. Try to get ahead."

"Get ahead how?" Mika asked.

"We'll have someone 'stalk' Kisaki, and... maybe... announce to our members not to listen to Akemi for a while..." Haru trailed off.

Akio sat silently, not liking the idea of going behind his best friend's back.

"Akemi does seem a little too close on this case to have a say..." Mika started. After a few minutes Mika spoke, "Alright, I'm in. But I think we should try to get Akemi to understand. Worst comes to worst we reveal the claims against Kisaki."

Akio added, "But those claims have no evidence. How can we show that as proof?"

"Then we'll find proof. Claims and 'vibes' will clearly not be enough to convince Akemi." Haru answered.
