Maybe he wasn't a jerk afterall?
I couldn't be more wrong. Just as I had this small change of heart about my new friend a very tall, blonde girl approached him. Not only did she approach him. No, she stood right between us as though I wasn't even there and... wait for it...
She kissed him. I couldn't see it from where I was, but God could I hear it.
When she decided he'd had enough, she turned around. Whipping her perfectly curled hair in my face. Now that I had a better view of her, I could see that she wore a lot of makeup. I mean A LOT. Some of it even got rubbed off on Brian's face. I chuckled a bit since he was still recovering.
Of course this would happen. He was the guy who slept around and had all these bimbos at his call. As I was making assumptions about her she was eyeing me up and down, slowly killing me with her eyes.
"Sorry I'm late Brian, I had a few things to take care of with Jake. Who're your friends?" She was being nice I guess. Just a hint of bitchiness in her voice. I could live with that.
"This is Sam, the girl I told you about. And her friend Terra." Her eyes widened at the mention of my name but then something smug overcame her expression.
"Well hi there ladies. I'm Sabina Cruz. Might I say, you two are an adorable couple." Excuse me? That's what that was about? Brian looked terrified. But not as much as Terra and I.
"No no no no. We're not dating. Actually pretty straight, thanks. Just roommates but I'm sure your cousin here could've told you." Now it was her turn to look petrified.
"COUSIN?" Brian was trying really hard to stop laughing but he couldn't help it.
"Yeah, you know. It's okay. I don't judge the whole 'close family kissy thing'." Terra gave me this huge grin. Sabina was staring her down and Terra didn't seem the type to back down. Something tells me Sabina and her would entertain me very much in my stay here.
"Okay ladies. Before my 'cousin' here gets a little restless, we better get going." Brian said. That's it son, go with your bimbo.
When they had left us at our table Terra high-fived me and burst into laughter. "That... was... FANTASTIC!" She said, struggling to catch her breath. We left soon after because we didn't want to risk another encounter with the blonde beast.
"How do you know him anyways?" Terra questioned.
"O...I uh met him just this morning on the flight here actually."
"Really? That's a lucky seating arrangement."
"Not really. He switched seats with some guy next to me and we talked for a bit. Then I fell asleep." I mumbled.
"He switched for you?? That's adorable! That cant be all that haopened!" When I completely stopped walking she got her answer.
"I may or may not have fallen asleep on his shoulder..."
"That's precious! He'd be damn near perfect if it weren't for the cousin" she commented, laughing at her own joke.
"Yeah..." I trailed off. To tell you the truth, I was a bit more disappointed in him than I'd like to be.
It wasn't the type of disappointment you get when losing a potential friend, I didn't really know what it was that I was feeling.
Later that night, Terra and I decided we'd done enough sight seeing and went back to our dorm. "Wanna watch a movie? Sam? SAAAMM!" I guess I might have been zoning out... again.
"Terra. Must you scream in my ear??" It was ringing and I was almost sure that this is what becoming deaf felt like.
"You weren't responding the first 100 times. I decided to improvise." I guess she might be a little right, but even then she should have had the kindness in heart to let me think. Or at least be more gentle!
"I'm sorry Terra. I'm just a little out of it. It's been a long day." I tried to explain.
"O, I know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours. Something to do with this lovely little friend you made earlier today. Am I right?" I have known Terra for a good 7 hours now and she already knew me better than my own family did.
"Something like that I guess. I don't really know how I feel about him." It wasn't worth lying about.
"I know hun. Men are horrible. This one though... I think he might be good for you." she added with a wink.
"Well... Let's stop talking about these bad men, K? I'll order takeout and we can get comfy and watch a movie or something. " i said trying to get my mind off of Brian. It's gonna be a long night...
