The sofa bed 2

They all sat round the table except for Adam and Jackie waiting for their crumble. Jonny began pouring salt into his own water.

Cosette just shook her head smirking at Jonnys actions Jonny noticed and smiled at the girl who said was sat next to Martin.

"So you'll do that for me Jonny?" Martin looked up at Jonny confused, "what are you doing that's your glass?"

"I know shh." Jonny replied hoping his dad wouldn't say anything. Jackie and Adam came back in with the crumble.

"Looks abit dry luckily we've got some water." Jonny said to Adam

"What? Ohh I know what you've done." Adam switched his and Jonnys glass then took a sip of the salty water but soon spitting it out again.

"Ugh you bastard!" Adam said.

Jackie rolled her eye.

"The double bluff!" Jonny laughed proud of himself. "High five dad."

Martin put him arm up to defend himself from Jonny."CHRIST!" He shouted Jonny looked confused.

"You know he doesn't understand these things." Jackie said. Cosette gave him a high-five instead.

"I'll go get some more water then." Adam says standing up and nudging Jonnys head as he walks by.

The phone rang and Jackie told Adam to get it. Turns out it was Jonny pretending to be val.

"Good one pissface." Adam said poking his head in the doorway then going to the kitchen.

Adam opened the cupboard and took out Jonnys mug and began to pour salt in it. The doorbell went again.

"God it's like a public toilet in here." Adam said.

"Come in use the loo." He said as he answered the door.

"Oh thanks I really needed too." A man who appeared not to be Jim ran into the toilet.

Adam was shocked and ran in the dining room.

"Mum there's a man in our loo!"

"I think we know that Adam." Cosette said.

"No like a man." He replied as he ran out again.

"What he going on about?" Jonny wondered running after Adam Cosette following closely behind.

"Hello?" Adam said.

"Hello?" The mysterious man replied.

Jonny grabbed Cosettes waist protectively which made her cheecks heat up.

"What's  a man in a toilet going to do to me?" Cosette said laughing.

"It's just in case shh." Jonny smiled.

Soon everyone was standing in the hallway waiting for the man to come out of the toilet. The man finally came out.

"Who are you?" Jackie asked the man.

"Chris , Chris Parker, I've come about the sofa bed." The man said.

"But the man's not coming till the 5th." Martin said confused.

"Martin today is the 5th ." Cosette informed Martin.

"No Saturday the 5th."

"Well that's a man here on the 5th." Adam said.

"I am." Chris said.

"And he's definitely come about the sofa bed." Jonny
added.

"I have." Chris said.

"Oh thanks a lot Martin, right in the middle of dinner." Jackie groaned. Walking into the kitchen.

Martin followed her saying sorry.

"And stop eating out of the bin!"

Martin, Adam and Chris were all sorting out the sofa bed whilst Jonny and Cosette were sat watching tv and Jackie was doing her own thing.

Jonny laid with his head on Cosettes lap as she played with his hair. Jackie went upstairs to see what was going on because Martin could be heard groaning in pain.

Martin and Jackie left the room and Adam and Chris carried on with the sofa bed. They walked past Jackie in the hall and suddenly someone came out of the toilet. It was Jim.

"What are you doing here?" Adam asked

"Well the other boy was in the toilet downstairs." Jim replied. " oh I haven't met you before, Jim Bell."

"Chris Parker." Chris replied. The two men shook hands then Jim left.

Abit later the sofa bed was stuck on the stairs. Adam and Jackie at the top of the stairs and Chris and Martin at the bottom.

"Hey are you okay today been abit quiet?"Jonny asked Cosette.

"Yeah I'm fine." She replied but Jonny was unconvinced.

"Coco you know you can tell me anything your my best friend." Cosette smiled at the words that escaped Jonnys lips.

"I guess I just miss my parents today, why would they just disappear off to my dads home in Greece like that?" Her eyes began to tear up.

Jonny sat up hugging his best friend hoping to cheer her up. "Hey it's ok I understand you can talk to me whenever you need." Jonny said pulling away from the hug. She smiled at his actions.

"There's that smile I needed to see!" Jonny said making her laugh.

Martin enterd the living room. "Jonny boxes in the car."

"What now?" Jonny asked.

"Yes now."

Jonny got up off of Cosettes lap and pouted at her which she laughed at.

Cosette heard Jonny car alarm go off which made her face palm because she knew Jackie was going to find out.

Jackie looked out the window to see a struggling Jonny with a box of magazines. She grabbed the paper from Adams pocket and read it. Her face flushed with anger.

"Martin." Jackie said but Martin didn't hear her.

"Mum please" Adam pleaded.

"Martin!" She said in a lower tone

"Yes my darling?" He poked his head up from behind the sofa.

Cosette was in the living room listening to the scene unfolding whilst scrolling on her phone.

"You think I'm stupid do you getting your youngest son hide all those dirty magazines and going and buying even more!" Jackie complained.

Chris looked very worried so Adam informed him that they weren't like 'dirty' magazines.

As Jackie and Martin carried on bickering Chris' phone rang. Soon later Cosette, Jonny and Chris were in the living room as chris had just found out  that his dad had past away. Martin was making him a cup of tea.

Martin walked in handing Chris the mug Adam had earlier put salt in. Jonnys phone rang it was Adam telling him about the mug but Chris had already taken a sip.

The next minute Chris ran out the house and everyone was outside waiting for Jackie to climb down the ladder.

Cosette was huddled into Jonnys side as it was freezing outside. Jackie finally made it down and they all walked inside with Jim following to use the loo.

"Right Masterchef." Jackie said rubbing her hand together.

"Who would have thought that Greek chap would win it all!" Jim said.

Jackie looked furious then suddenly a there was a loud crash from the sofa bed falling down the stairs.
Jonny grabbed Cosette protectively.

"Shit on it!" Jackie said.
