TIME: 8:09 PM.
PLACE: BEDROOM.
i was sat in my room studying for my chemistry class. "mitochondria..." i looked at the flash card. "the powerhouse of the cell?" i flipped it over. correct! i smiled to myself. my phone suddenly buzzed.
LACY:
"Hey girly! are you still studying?"
"yes, what's up?"
"awh man :( i was gonna see if you wanted to go out?"
"Lacy, its 8 at night."
"so? ever heard of urban exploring?"
"...no."
"well you're about to find out what it is if you come with me and randy to this weird abandoned mall."
"i won't pass this test if i even try. i'll go."
"YES! XD"
i sighed and put down my phone. she'll probably be at my window in-
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
well. i was right.
"come on y/n!"
i sighed and threw my hair up and peeked out the window. "i'll be down in a minute! let me change n' shit!" they nodded and i walked over to my wardrobe and picked out a black spaghetti strap, and some ripped up jean shorts. (or jeans if you dont like shorts.) i grabbed my fluffy jacket and tied it around my waist. even though its like 70 out right now, better safe then sorry.
i then grabbed a bag and threw a flashlight, my phone, my headphones, my wallet, and a couple extra items. i then threw myself out the window. "finally..." randy groaned. i just rolled my eyes. "alright, where is this place lace?"
"hurricane. it's about a 15 or 20 minute walk."
"you guys walked here?" they both nodded.
"great." i sighed.
we started our journey and headed out. we talked about highschool memories, since we had just graduated, they asked me how cosmetology school was, yada yada yada. we soon approached a broke down mall. it was probably abandoned before my time, as i had never seen, or heard of this mall. we climbed up a pile of dirt that led up to a window and jumped down. "do you guys remember freddys and those unsolved murders?" me and randy nodded. "well, supposedly they built this mall around that place after they shut down and moved. so rumor has it that the spirits of the children ran off all the store owners and made this place go bankrupt!"
damn.
"i think i wanna go home..." randy said, shaking. he was very timid at times. "nope!" lacy argued. she grabbed our hands and led us to an alleyway between two stores that had bare brick. "this is the spot where we can get in i think..." she dragged out the word think as she looked around for an entrance. "there! she pointed in the store window to a shelf."
...a shelf.
"lacy, thats a shelf."
"i know."
"..."
we made our way into the store and up to the rusted store shelf. we moved it and low and behold, a door was behind. "how do you know all of this?!" i said. "research." she winked and opened up the rusted doors. we looked around for a bit. old drawings on the floor... party hats and balloons on the tables, ready for a party... god this place was run dow-AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!
"AHHHHH! SHIT!" i turned to soon while i was in thought to be met with a animatronic staring at me. "calm down... jesus." randy rolled his eyes. "please. you're the one who said he wanted to go home." i argued back. he shut his mouth. "y/n!" i heard lacy yell. "come here!" she was inside the arcade. i walked to her. "yeah?"
"i bet you can't go under this ballpit for 5 minutes without comin' back up." she smirked.
"thats easyyyyy...." i paused as i saw the mold and mildew on the colorful balls.
"100 dollars says you won't." she shoved a 100 dollar bill in my chest.
"shit. 100? ... bet."
i headed into the ball pit, hearing lacy and randy laugh behind me. i dove in head first, and buried myself in them. it felt disgusting to breath. so i held my breath for a moment. "okay... five minutes starting... now!" lacy laughed. i slowly counted in my head to make myself zone out and get my mind off of the fact that i was in a moldy ball pit. i felt the room spinning around me.
okay this is normal... right? i felt something jump into the ball pit next to me, so i jolted up.
"LACY THATS- Not... funny...."
where the hell am i?
