Dance Your ♡ Out (Bokuaka dance AU)

First Practice

{Akaashi POV}

I look at my watch and immediately sigh... We only have 5 minutes until lunch is over and my first class begins.

Guess what my first class is? Duo choreography...this means that I have to actually dance with Bokuto-san now. I get up to leave my spot at the table and throw my food away as someone snatches my plate from my hands.

Looking over, I see Bokuto adding my empty plate to a stack of 4 other plates.

"I can get your trays for you! It's the most I can do to repay you for your welcoming!" He says.

"Thank you, Bokuto-san." I say slightly bowing and turning to head to the practice room.

I sit down on the floor next to my dance bag and slip my tennis shoes off. Hearing a loud plop behind me, I turn my head and find Bokuto setting his stuff down right next to me.

I turn back to put my heels on and say to him,
"I'm gonna cut straight to the chase, how good are you at duos and do you know the choreography? You came late and today we are performing for the rest of the class."

"First off, duos are my best style, and second, I practiced on the way here so don't worry we can just go full out!" He says smiling, with a small blush on his cheeks.

I smile a little bit at the last part but immediately go back to a resting face. There's no need to smile when he speaks, it's just his extreme personality that throws me off, right?

{Bokuto's POV}

I'm really starting to sweat... Akaashi is one of the most renowned dancers in the country and I'm going to be dancing with him!!

I told him that I had been practicing the choreo on my way here but I've actually been hardcore practicing for months now! Even backstage at a national competition just in case I would be able to partner with him...

We all start stretching in the middle of the floor as our instructor plays the music to the routine. It's not very long but it is quite a romantic and fast piece so I'm really excited to dance this with Akaashi! Though he probably doesn't think anything of it because he's practiced this with all of the other guys before I arrived...

Once we finished stretching the teacher instructs us to take our seats at the front of the floor, in front of the mirror. I sit down right next to Akaashi and wait for the first people to go. Me and Akaashi are last so I have a few to get through, enough to go over the choreography in my head a few more times.

The groups going before us are strangers to me. The only thing I know about them is that they lack precision and don't really know the steps. Kageyama, Hinata, Kuroo, and Kenma walk into the room right before our turn saying that they are just "waiting for their class to begin."

I know better than to believe them and that they're just here to watch me and Akaashi.

{No one's POV}

Akaashi and Bokuto step onto the floor and get into position, waiting for the music to start.

The routine begins as the two dance apart with their own choreography, almost as if avoiding each other.

As it goes on the 'male' dancer, Bokuto, inches closer to the 'female', Akaashi.

Bokuto grabs Akaashi by the wrist and dips him down, looking straight into his eyes. This causes a slight blush to form on both of their faces but they immediately get back into character.

Akaashi pushes him away and saunters off a few steps away from him. They continue dancing in sync as Bokuto chases after him. Eventually, the roles reverse and Akaashi is the one bringing Bokuto closer now.

After a long and grueling routine, the two dancers hold the ending pose, which includes their faces almost touching, much to Akaashi's embarrassment.

The whole entire room erupts in waves of cheers and applause. They step out of their pose and look around the room, stopping to stare at the shocked faces of their friends.

The groups looks at each other, back to Bokuto and Akaashi, and then once again back to the group. Hearing a little click, everyone turns to Kenma.

This is when Bokuto and Akaashi realize that they were being recorded...

Akaashi gasps as Bokuto forms a blush...

"AHEM!" exclaims the teacher, getting everyone's attention.

"That was an exhilarating performance from you two! I have one thing to say that I have been hiding from you all. This "showcase", was actually tryouts for taking this routine to competition. I think it is safe to say that Bokuto and Akaashi have earned the right to perform this." 

Cheers erupt once more as Akaashi turns to Bokuto, smiling giddily. Bokuto just stares with his mouth agape at the panting and overall ecstatic partner in front of him. He had never seen this much emotion on Akaashi in the short time he had known him, and he never wanted it to stop.

{Akaashi POV}

I wake up to a blinding light realizing that I forgot to close my blinds again. It's only 6:30 and I have to be at the studio at 8:00 so I have quite a bit of time to get ready.

I walk into the kitchen and put some bagels in the toaster and go to wash my face. I don't make it into the bathroom however, and I hear my phone going off nonstop.

"Who is blowing up my phone this early?!" I say aloud to no one but myself.

As I look at my phone my mouth falls open.

There are 504.7k messages popping up from numerous social media cites... Don't get me wrong, I'm not a stranger to being an internet sensation, my accomplishments have landed me on multiple live tv occurrences and numerous conventions. However, I had not done anything to deserve all this recognition so I push my thoughts to the side and open my phone to Yutube.

What came up as #1 on Trending made me do a double take...

KittyKen: A clip of the world renowned dancers Bokuto and Akaashi previewing their duet piece for this year!!

The video didn't include the whole entire dance as the choreography could be stolen, but it included just enough to get about everyone on Yutube to start fawning over me and Bokuto-san as duo partners...

I take a deep breath and try to calm my anger that is bubbling up because of Kenma. He didn't not have my permission to post that but I guess it's a good thing if it gets us recognition to kickstart our season.... I'll have a stern talking to with him later.
