I've always been ambitious.

Life's always been the greatest task to complete and I had worked smartly for years, dedicating my every millisecond to completinh the great task.

My plan was fairly simply:

1. Go to NYU
2. Be thee most successful dancer.

See, not very complicated and up until a certain point in my life, my plan was in motion. I was litreally dancing through it.

With amazing grades and really good friends, my life was bound to be sculpted perfectly in its entirety.

I didn't always get support, especially not from my mother, but I didn't give one flying fuck.

I was going to make something of myself.

Then I watched my world plummet...

I was 16, I had just ended the school day and I was on my home. My walk was fast paced, I had a lot to get too, especially with this dance exam coming up I need to work exceptionally hard.

My phone rang as I reached the half way point towards my home.

I picked up.

I said hello.

—And there the panicked voice spoke, incoherent words coming from the speaker, a fast paced breathing, and the sound of soft feminine voices in the background.

"Viv I need you."

Thats all took for me to begin running in the opposite direction, running to the one person who supported me and my dreams most.

My sister needed me and I was going to be there.

I got to the ER hyperventilating, my eyes were wide, and my hands were shaking. I approached the receptionist and my words blurted out sounding like a bunch of mumbles.

"Calm down baby, tell me what you need?"

The voice of a concerned nurse spoke behind me, she placed her hand on my upper back with a worried look on her face.

"I have to see my sister, Danielle Lockwood"

I spoke out, tears were beginning to build up in my eyes, making my vision blurry.

The nurse spoke to receptionist, and the receptionist typed away. The two spoke in hushed voices to each other.

The nurse nodded at the receptionist and turned towards my shaking body.

"Okay sweetie, she's still in the delivery room, so your gonna have to wait a while."

What?

The nurse led me to a seat, but my head still echoed with the sound of her words.

Over and over again the repeated in my brain.

My sister was pregnant?

How could I have not know this, we spoke almost every other day.

She told me about her trips to Europe, and her amazing job. She never failed to bring me treats from her travels when she came to visit mom and I.

So where did it go wrong?

And would it happen to me?

My mind raced for what seemed like only a few seconds, but the next time I opened my eyes, there were fewer people in the waiting room and a nurse looking at me sympathetically.

"She's ready to see you now"

I quickly got up, rubbing my eyes to clear my vision. I passed through halls my heart beat slowing through every door.
