Keigo Takami, a boy who has just saved a bunch of people from a tunnel collapse, entered the Hero Commission due to his parents' suggestion(sold him).

Meli Grant, the leader of the Hero Commission, had just showed him his new room.

"Now Keigo, this is your room, and there's a bathroom in it." The winged boy stared in awe at the mahogany bed, LCD TV, walk-in closet, and the marble floors.

"Remember to not leave this room without permission, and training starts at 7:30. Got that?"

"Yes, ma'am." Keigo answered, and Meli smiled. "Excellent. What a good boy. Goodnight." "Goodnight ma'am!"

Keigo bade her goodnight with a smile. After she closed the door, he went for his bag, which was sitting at the foot of the bed. He looked around the room, doubt starting to fill his mind.

"Everything seems crazy big
And I'm feeling unsteady
My parents say that I'll be fine
But I don't think I'm ready"

He sang softly as he took out his Endeavor doll out of his bag.

"New home
New people
A brand new life
And training that lasts all day
I'm just a little boy from a far far town There's no way in this world I could stay"

He sang as he twirled in a circle.

The blond walked to a small corner in his room, where figurines of popular heroes lay.

"I'm not ready to be a hero
I don't have what it takes"

He picked up an All Might figurine.

"I'm too short for costumes"

then picked up an Ectoplasm figurine

"I look dumb in masks"

He tossed them both aside.

"And I'm going to make a bajillion mistakes

Keigo raced to his vanity.

"I'm too average to be a hero
I respectfully refuse"

The child bowed to his reflection, uncertainty written all over his face.

He pushed a thick book aside.

"I don't know the rules"

then pushed some money on the surface away

"I don't want the cash"

Then he looked down at his feet, his new shoes covering them.

"And these feet were made for comfortable shoes"

Keigo walked over to a big cabinet and threw its doors open, revealing all sorts of trinkets.

"Shelves bursting with trinkets
That I'm afraid to touch"

The winged boy shut the doors and raced to the toy chest sitting at the foot of his bed and took out a fancy robot.

"Fancy toys"

then looked at all the pillows in his bed, all of them extremely large.

"And ginormous pillows"

He raced to the door,

"It's all much too much"

And threw them open, racing outside.

"Too much!"

He ran down the corridor, stopping in front of a mirror.

"I'm not ready to be a hero
One look and that seems clear"

Then turned around to face a stone statue of an ancient hero.

"Cancel my debut
Keep your camera crew"

He stopped at a fork in the corridor, unsure which way to go.

"And if I ever find Touya's room"

On a dare, he took a right turn,

"I'm out of here!"

Keigo slowed down and sat on the floor.

"Keigo
Not a heroic name
Keigo
Even my quirk is lame
I'm not ready to be a hero"

A door opened, revealing Touya. "Birdbrain?"

"Touya!" The blond boy threw his arms around his best friend before the fire user let him inside his room.

In Touya's room, they sat on his bed. "What is it, Birdbrain?" Touya asked, concerned for his friend.

"I don't know anything about a hero, and I don't have any special moves. I'm going to do something stupid, and they're all going to laugh at me." Keigo revealed.

Touya thought for a second, then an idea forming in his mind. "Hey, I got something for you."

"What is it?"

Touya walked to his desk, taking a small wooden box out of the drawer. He opened it to show a rose-gold chain with a shining blue pendant circled by a gold circle inside.

"It's beautiful." Keigo gasped in amazement, and the redhead smiled softly.

"It's a very special pendant, it brings good luck to whoever wears it, so you have to promise to never take it off, OK?" Touya clasped the pendant around his friend's neck.

The blond boy looked at the pendant before closing his hand around it. "OK."

"Now go back to your room, you don't want Miss Grant to catch you breaking curfew." Touya said.

"Um...Thanks. For helping me." Keigo muttered, embarrassed.

"No problem. Helping people is what heroes do." Touya answered as he picked up the book he was reading.

As Keigo heads back to his room, looking at the pendant, he smiles and thinks, "Maybe I am ready to be a hero."

Hi! So, I had an idea of having aincent mythic stones forged into pendants and being passed down from generation to generation to the firstborn, like the Amulet of Avalor.

Very un original, I know.

Also I have no idea what the rooms the Hero Commission prepared, so I try to make them fancy.
