It didn't take long for Shaiapouf to find Colt, who had been walking down one of the many halls within the castle on watch dusty as usual. Coming into contact with one of the pass-aggressive Royal Guards did put him on edge, but knowing that it was ws regarding the Princes was enough to make the lower fesses relax. Knowing that she wanted him as a bodyguard for today only filled him with pride. He had only met the Princess a few times through his life of staying within these walls, but with her they were all very pleasant nonetheless.
Unlike her brother and the other three higher ranks, she didn't kill those who spoke without permission or did things she didn't like, the only real harm would be a good punch or kick with your life intact to see another day. It was odd how she hadn't been wrongly influenced like her family and the last few generations, but it's something he appreciates from the bottom of his heart.
The young man stood near the designated spot, he had made sure to grab his best gear and sharpest sword so he would easily snuff out any life that attempted to harm the Princess. Right now he waited patiently, his horse lowering her head for more pets to her snout. Colt goes to gently run his hand over her smooth fur, thinking to himself why him of all people were chosen.
The Princess chose me? Over a royal guard?.. She.. She must have high hopes for me, she must believe that I can truly protect her despite the obvious difference in strength, her and I..
He knew the Princess was strong and capable of handling her own, which is why he doesn't fully comprehend why she hadn't picked someone of equal strength, but he would push passed his limits to keep her out of harms way.
"Sorry for the wait."
Her voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he quickly faced her, bowing his head low as she comes closer.
"No need to apologize, Your Majesty! I would have waited here half the day if need be! If it means pleasing you."
Y/N's shoulders rolled as he spoke, her motions a bit reluctant.
"Yeah, alright. So we're gonna be off for most of the day. This place is making me sick and I need something to get my mind off royal duties."
She goes to throw a h/c hood over her head, which hid half her half as the rope fell low to cover most of her body.
"As you wish, Your Majesty."
The soldier goes about getting his horse form the stalls and pulls her along with them towards the grassy outside, she had directed them on leaving out the back way rather than the front. The Princess settled on the back as the owner of the animal controlled it, and it didn't take them long to leave the semi-violent,m castle behind, the sight of it growing smaller and smaller as they trot across an open field of green.
No words had been exchanged between the two, just the soft thudding of hoofs and the commonly short phase that is spoken once the straps of the horses mouth gear is tugged. The royal woman rests her head against the soldier's upper back, e/c eyes half lidded as they stare at the fast-pacing trees. The animal was moving rather quick and it blurred the environment around them to a certain extent, but knowing she had been growing further away from her home had been refreshing.
