CHAPTER 5

-At unknown place-

The mouse clicked continuously where a news headline appeared that said, "Kang Kwon-Joo, a sound profiler who can see scenes with her ear. She has a 90% rate of handling cases. She lends his ear to those in need."

"The chief director is talented. Woah... Now, I can't wait to have it. I want your ear, Kang Kwon-Joo. I can't wait to have it." A man laughed while looking at Kang Kwon-Joo picture.

-At Poongsan Center-

The call center office is busy as usual, starting with the voice-phishing case. When Do Kang-Woo attempted to catch the culprit, he got a knife in his arm due to the attacker's attack. Luckily, he finally caught the culprit.

"Good job everyone. Please come back and continue your work." Kang Kwon-Joo said. Day starts night, when the detectives came to the office, she went straight to Do Kang-Woo, "Are you okay?"

"You hurt." Kang Center holds his arm.

"It doesn't matter. I'm fine, you don't have to worry. It's just a small scratch." She looked at him disbelief.

"No... I will treat your wound." She took the first aid kit box.

"Give me your hand." She started to treat his wound while he started observing her. He didn't know since when he had this feeling, he secretly smiled. She didn't know he was looking at her because she is too focused on treating his wound.

"Thank you. Come on, I'll take you home."

They arrived at Kang Kwon-Joo apartment. "Thank you." She said goodbye to him and started to enter her apartment.

When Do Kang-Woo was about to leave got into his car. He felt strange seeing a truck parked in the corner. He was starting to feel bad. Just in case he wanted to call Kang Kwon-Joo to make sure he had arrived at his apartment. But he didn't answer the phone. Do Kang-Woo felt that something was wrong because why she didn't answer even though he had just dropped her off.

At the same time, when she started to enter the house and close the door. She walked a few steps then she froze because hearing the sound of breath. There was someone else besides her. when the perpetrator realized that she was aware. She runs towards the door but the perpetrator starts to restrain her to tie her up using a rope and covers her mouth with a tape. He wears black rubber gloves. She can feel his breath against his ear as he mutters, "I know your ears are special even you can hear me." He laughs, "I really want your ear, Kang Center-nim." Her heart racing, her body is shaking. Her tears slowly falling and her body started to bruise from trying to fight. Suddenly, her phone rings, Do Kang-Woo calls her. "Look at this," he smirked, "Even before they came here, I would have cut off your ear." He turned off her cell phone.

She slowly heard a voice coming towards her, she started to make as much noise as possible. Someone started breaking down the door and calling her name, the voice was like Do Kang-Woo. But the perpetrator started to bring the branch cutting towards her, he started to act which made Kang Kwon-Joo's ear tear slightly and bleed. Luckily, Do Kang-Woo was able to stop him. He was furious that he hit him until he was unconscious. He immediately headed for Kang Kwon-Joo to untie the rope and tape. He saw that one of her ears was bleeding. Then call Park Detective and ambulance to come here.

She cried really hard into his arms. He wipes the tears from her cheeks and then begin to hugging her so tightly, to keep her safe, "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." His tears start falling down. He wraps his arms behind her waist and under knees as he picks her up to go to the ambulance.

After the doctor finished stitching up the wound, he said her ear was slightly torn, luckily it wasn't too bad. He is waiting for her in the room and hasn't take his eyes off from her. After a few hours, she began conscious.

"Are you all right now?" He tried to help her to adjust the pillow.

"I'm sorry for not taking you until your apartment. I-" She cuts his words and shakes her head, "No, it's not your fault."

She held his hand and tries to ensure him. "I'm fine now, you help me, right?" Her voice is really soft. He wraps his arms around her carefully.
