Present

6th December

It's Christmas and Louis brings home a special present for his boyfriend Harry.

Louis arrived home around five in the evening. He didn't exclaim as he usually would. He kept quiet as he walked inside the house.

"Lou? Are you home?" Harry was the one who exclaimed since he heard the door.
"Fuck." Louis mumbled under his breath.
"Yes love, I am home!" he looked down to see a nose making it's way out of his coat.
"Stay there." he whispered.

Before Harry could even come into the doorway Louis ran up the stairs.

"Hi Lou-" he came in just a minute after Louis had left.
"Lou?" he called out for him.

"Give me a minute! I'll be right there!" he shouted as he made his way into the guest room.
"Okay bub. You stay here. Here is a blanket and I'll bring you some water and dog food that I still have in the car." Louis caressed the little boy's head.

It was a puppy of golden retriever. He wasn't sure, but he looked like a golden retriever. He was cute and he came right towards Louis. It was clear that he was the right dog for them, especially for Harry.

He left the puppy there and closed the door behind himself when he did so. Louis hoped the puppy wouldn't make a mess or loud sounds. He really wanted this year's gift to be a surprise.

What was good was that he didn't have to wait there till morning. Harry and Louis had a rule that all presents are being given on 24th of December. Why? Because it's Louis' birthday. It's up to them if they open them all or leave some for the morning too. If they want to open them all, they simply can. It was weird you might say but for them it was the standard now.

Louis ran down the stairs, finding Harry in the living room.
"Hi love." he immediately put on a smile.
"Hey there. What are you up to?" Harry asked as his brows drew together.
"Well, I just really had to use the bathroom." Louis shrugged, not giving it away that easily.
"Okay." Harry shrugged it off.
"Well, it's your birthday today." he smiled and came closer to Louis.
"Yeah?" Louis questioned.
"So I made something."  Harry found his way to Louis' ear as he whispered.
"What?" was all Louis managed to say in response.
"Some food of course." Harry slowly kissed the right spot under Louis' ear. He knew how much he loved it.
"Haz." Louis moaned weakly at that.
"Let's eat?" Harry pulled away.
Louis cursed internally before he nodded.

"Its really amazing Haz, thank you." Louis said after he swallowed one of his many bites.
"I am glad you like it. We can move to the presents whenever you are ready." Harry got up since he had finished his portion already.

"Presents?" Louis purred, taking his eyes towards his boyfriend.
"Unless you don't want any."
"Well, I don't need them, but since they are from my boyfriend then I'd like them." Harry rolled his eyes.
"I am finished now! Lets go?" he got up and put his plate away.

"Okay, but i have to put a mask over your eyes first." Louis whined.
"Can't I just close them?" he questioned.
"No, i know you would look." Louis groaned but let Harry do what he wanted.

"Okay, now just let me guide you." Harry reached for Louis' hand.
The older one made few careful steps forward.
"Okay, we are almost there, just some more." Louis followed his voice, wanting the mask down already.

"Stop." Harry suddenly said.
"Let's take it down." he took the mask off Louis' eyes.
Louis blinked a few times, looking around for his present.
"You! There is no present that isn't wrapped!" Louis turned towards his bastard of a boyfriend.

"Just wanted to be cheeky." Harry grinned.
"You little shit. You are lucky i love you." Louis smiled at him.
"I know." Harry rested his hands around Louis' neck, leaning closer to peck his lips.

"That's my present?" Louis mumbled against his lips.
"Well, it is, but wouldn't you like to open the other presents first?" Louis wanted to say yes but then he thought about something.

"I have better idea." he took the mask out of Harry's back pocket, putting it over his eyes.
"Louis, what are you doing?"
"The same as you. Come with me." he took Harry's hand into his.
Louis led him towards the stairs.
He bit his lip. He didn't think it through before. Harry won't be able to walk the stairs with closed eyes.
"Okay." Louis picked him up into his arms.
"Lou!" He clung to him, his arms locked around his neck.

Louis made his way up the stairs with Harry in his arms as he used to do when they were still just teenagers.
"Hop down, we are here." he panted a little because the stairs were pretty bad.
Harry did as he was told.
"Let's get you your present." Louis took his hand in his, leading him towards the room where he had left the present previously.

"Should I be scared?" Harry mumbled as he walked.
"No love, not at all." Louis finally grabbed the doorknob and waited for Harry to come as close as possible.
"Take it down." he let go of his boyfriend's hand.
Harry did as he was supposed to, taking the mask off of his eyes.

He could see that Louis was standing with his back pressed against the door, one of his hands on the doorknob.
"I am scared." Harry smiled at him small.
"Don't have to. Are you ready?" Harry only nodded.
Louis opened the door and stepped away in order to stand next to Harry.
It was silent for a moment, nothing was visible. Then all of sudden a little creature ran into the middle of the doorframe, stopping in order to take a look at the intruders. The puppy was holding the blanket in his mouth as he cocked his head to the side.

He slowly let go of the blanket, making his way over to the new person while wiggling his tail.
"Gosh Lou! A puppy?" Harry leaned down to pet the little guy in front of him. Well, at first just pet him and then pick him up into his arms.

"You don't like my present?" Harry turned to Louis with a pout.
"Baby, of course i do." Harry smiled at him before he leaned in. He was about to kiss Louis' lips, but the puppy was jealous and began to lick their chins.
"Stop!" Harry laughed, pulling away.
"Ollie is being jealous." Harry pointed out.
"Ollie?" Louis questioned.
"Can we name him that?" Harry asked, not sure if Louis liked it.
"It's your dog darling, so name him what you want." Louis smiled small, being happy. Harry talked about wanting a pet friend multiple times but didn't do anything about it.
"Then it's Larry."
"Gosh love..." Louis shook his head.

"I am so glad I have a partner in crime now. We are gonna do all the forbidden stuff while Lou is gone." he whispered into the puppy's ear.
"Are you aware of me still standing here?" Louis questioned.
"Of course." Harry smiled up at him while pressing the puppy's cute little head against his cheek.
"You two are too cute." Louis sighed.
"We know, right Ollie? Now let's find you some bowls. You need water and your food." Harry walked with the puppy in his arms towards the staircase.
"Thank you so much Lou." he turned around to give another smile to his boyfriend.
"No need to. Let's get his stuff now. I have it in the car."
