Rain

Alice, Annie and I sat together in pure boredom at the reception bench. While Miss Cleo and Livia sat in Miss Cleo's office to talk among themselves.

About.

Grown.

Ups.

Stuff.

I.

Suppose.

"I Like your costume!" Annie beamed in my direction, lightly playing with a strand of her light blonde hair.

Although it wasn't technically a costume. I but still took it as a compliment and smiled like any good young gentleman would.

"Thank you Annie" I fixed my lavender coloured tie and blushed. "My best friend Lockie said I looked like a dummy"

Alice quickly debunked Lockie's remark and shook her head in pure disbelief. "No you don't Rain. I think you look very smart in your suit" I simply curved my lips into a small smile feeling fully content with myself.

Lounging back on the branch with my hands above my head.

Livia

"Rain is quite unique name for a boy" I commented sat comfortably in front of Cleo inside of her office. The caretaker nodded her head sat before me. "I gave him that name the first night he was brought here as an infant"

"It was raining heavily that night and Rain wouldn't stop crying at first. But after I mention that I didn't like the weather he smiled up at me and that is how I came up with the name Rain"

"Because of the weather" "yes, exactly" Cleo exclaimed. I intensely lean forward in my chair wide eyed in curiosity. "Interesting" my expression turned melodically reminiscing about Fiona and the times we spend together before untimely her death.

"Is everything alright Livia?" Cleo asked clearly voicing her concern for my wellbeing. Tears began to form with my eyelids, I quickly wiped them to avoid any suspicious. "I'm find thank you, Cleo. I causally lied through my teeth.

And.

Felt.

Overly.

Bad.

About.

It.

Too.

"It's just allergies acting up again through this time of the year" My lies continued as I rambled conveniently. And low and behold it worked a charm.

"How old is Rain? 9 or 10?" I kindly make-known whist trying to figure out if my gut feeling tucked within my stomach was right.

Cleo give a polite nod and smiled opening up the nearby draw below her desk. She search through multiple paperwork for The Wool's Orphanage children's case files. The wavily haired brunette beamed like no tomorrow as Rain's file finally found it's way into her hands.

"Ah there it is" Cleo silvery handed me over Rain's case file. "I knew I had his file somewhere" she stated in a matter-of-factly tone. I gave her a sympathetic smile to say thank you as the sensitive file was in my hand.

Faster than a ridding broomstick in my youth I dipped my other hand inside of my handbag to receive my reading glasses to help me read everything in writing correctly.

Afterwards i proceeded to stay silent, carefully scanning my eyes on Rain's case file through start to finish.
