heads up, mentions of knifes, scars (not self induced) consumption of blood? does this count as ero/romantic gore????
idk, i'm ace.

"well, you see, dearest alumni of mine. remember how i said that i had to sacrifice a lot to have you here?"
you nodded, confused about the change of topic.
"you also remember that i had to fill in for a couple of teachers?"
once again, you nodded.
"i was previously endorsed to be a one of the 'three triumphs' as soon as i finish my research. ashes, i could even become head of the school if i wanted. but the higher ups oh hohoho, they didn't like the idea of me being their superior. i could even go off on an limb and say that they planned me being 'demoted' since i got my way to the top."
he chuckled, bitter and loud like a bubbling poison.
"honestly, they could have used the fact that i wanted you in this school as an excuse."
his bitterness became manic.
"i have perfected recipes, instructions, i even had my own assistants-- i was so close. and i came all burning down into fucking ashes."
he was close to slamming his fists into the table.
"that is until i finish a little project of mine. i need you to help me with it,"
odius smiled, tilting his head, his green eyes looked toxic.
"give them a reason to change their mind. make them feel cornered, powerless, desperate. they'll basically see me as a saint, someone they need to survive."
"what do i gain from this? experience?"
"oh no no no... more than that. you'll earn my favour--- a triumphs favour! i'll give you so much."
"what makes you say that, oh i don't know... go back on your fucking word like the scaley bitch that you are?"
"hmm... i guess a reward in advance is needed."
"more than that, professor. i want your word on it, your life on it."
are blood pacts a thing in this world?
"is that a threat, little alumni?"
"oh... no, professor. it's a promise."
"oh dear light... it is a very, very important task..."
condescending little bitch.
"professor, i could change my mind. tell everyone what you're planning, right now."
hypocrite.
he mock sighed, "oh well, what can i do to show you i'm not going to go back on my word? official loyalty-pacts are restricted to royalty. plus, i don't have anything to score either of us with."
what the fuck. do people burn contracts onto eachother?
"hmmm, maybe it doesn't have to be necessarily be a burn... i'm not really a fan of symbolism but, do you have a knife?"
"what... what are you going to do?" for the first time in your life, you think you saw his hubris, his own invulnerability, falter against your words.
"just a little nick. don't worry, you get to have a got at me too, but mine gets to have more weight to it."
you wonder how he'll react at what you plan to do to him, how his calm assurance would turn into a vulnerable, bleeding desperation. you'll remind him, mentally and physically of his little promise.
he eventually handed you a letter opener. the handle was a polished, dark wood, littered with a distinct wavy, yet spiraling pattern. the blade wasnt dull, mantained in a way that would scar on a normal person.
perfect.
"hmm... what is your opinion on blood? ingesting it? or would you rather something more... sentimental? mixing our blood... or bettet yet, putting it in a vial?"
"i could easily---"
"i thought you agreed to this? you literally handed me this lovely letter opener, having second thoughts?"
"i..."
"oh--- how about this, if it helps the nerves, you go first? i'm being generous here."
his green eyes were frozen onto the knife. you can't really tell what kind of thoughts or emotions going in his head, but you can sense fear.
doesn't really matter what kind to you, really.

700+ words
[odius shivers at the thought of his blood on your tongue]
this escalated quickly, again.
the inherent eroticism of doing a blood-pact to secure an alliance with your enemy.
