Alyssa POV

5 months later

I wake up to the bright sun. I get up from my bed and open my doors. The beach is amazing, I wish I could stay for forever.

Today is my last day in Hawaii. My dad took three months off of work, just to be with me. I've been shopping, swimming, tanning, running, playing games, meeting new people, and forgetting everything from the past.

I decide to take a relaxing run on the beach. Before I leave, I change into running clothes. I will miss this so much.

I've met so many nice people. I even got a running buddy, named Damon. He's really being helping me. We met when I was on a run and he according ran into me.

"Alyssa!" I turn around and sweet dad.

"Do you need something?"

"As much as I don't want to leave, I have to get back to work."

"I understand." He turns around.and heads toward the door.

"We have to make a quick stop to the academy. I know we were trying to forget about it. But we need to talk to the general, I am still a sponsor of the academy."

Oh Shit.

I still never told my dad that Carter, the general, is the one who caused my injury.

I start breathing heavily. This can't be happening.

"Is something wrong sweetheart?"

"No dad. I'm just going to go on a run and say goodbye to Damon."

"See you later."

Then I run out of the beach house and run to the shore. I sprint as fast as a can.

"Alyssa! Wait up!" I turn and see Damon. I stop and motion him to sit down.

"I need to talk to you about something."

We sit down on the sand.

"I have to see him again. What if he doesn't like me anymore?"

He looks at me caringly.

"He would be stupid not to still like you. You are a perfect girl and any man would be lucky to have you."

"Thanks, Damon. But what if he's moved on?"

"Stop with the what ifs. You'll find your answer soon. Don't look scared, look normal when you see him."

"Thanks for being a great friend, Damon." We give each other a hug. He knows that nothing special will happen between us.

"If you ever need anything. Call me."

"I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you to."

After I say goodbye to everyone else, I head toward my house. My bags are already all packed. I meet my dad in the front of the house.

Once were in the car, the driver heads toward the airport. My dad is on his phone, talking business like usual. I look out the window and look at everything around me.

Should I tell my dad about Carter? I wish I knew what to do.

Carter POV

I look at my schedule and see that I will have to see Alyssa's dad. He is a sponsor and my job is that I'm suppose to tell the sponsors how the school is doing.

I'm going to tell him. I've never forgotten about Alyssa. She means the world to me. I never wanted to hurt her. I want us to be together.

I could always give them a full tour of the school. So I can see her more.

Why can't trying to get the girl I want be easy?
