A few moons had already past. Snarlclaw was getting an apprentice today.
"All old enough to catch there own prey gather beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!" yowled Darkstar. At that, cats began to gather beneath the highrock. Darkstar noticed that ONE cat was missing. Leaffur...thought the ShadowClan leader. He shaked the thought of his deputy missing away and got on with the clan gathering. "Today we gather beneath the highrockfor a very special meeting. Hollyleaf's kits r becoming apprentices!!" started Darkstar. The four kit's 'eyes were shinning with excitement. "Jaykit, do you promise to learn the ways of the warrior code and fight for your clan even at the cost of your life?"
"I do"
"Then by the power of StarClan, i give you we're apprentice name. From this day on, until u r a warrior, you will be known as Jaypaw.Snarlclaw will be your mentor. Russetkit, do you promise to learn the ways of the warrior code and fight for your clan even at the cost of your life?" asked Darkstar
"I do" meowed the newly made apprentice.
"Then by the power of StarClan, i give you we're apprentice name. From this day on, until u r a warrior, you will be known as Russetpaw. Leopardblaze will be your mentor."Darkstar took a breath and re-started. "Whitekit, do you promise to learn the ways of the warrior code and fight for your clan even at the cost of your life?"
"I do..."
"Then by the power of StarClan, i give you we're apprentice name. From this day on, until u r a warrior, you will be known as Whitepaw. Blackfur will be ur mentor. Last but not least, Cloudedkit, do you promise to learn the ways of the warrior code and fight for your clan even at the cost of your life?" asked Darkstar.
"I doo!!" shouted the kit.
"Then by the power of StarClan, i give you we're apprentice name. From this day on, until u r a warrior, you will be known as Cloudedpaw. Liontail will be your mentor." As Darkstar hopped down from the HighRock, Leaffur came tumbling in. She was badly wounded.
"pl...ea...se... get... Red...fang..." managed to say Leaffur.
"Dont worry Leaffur... Redfangs coming..." meowed Darkstar. At those words, Redfangs came in with a bunch of herbs, Smokepaw on her heals. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF STARCLAN HAPPENED TO YOU!!" shouted Smaokepaw.
"Fox... got... me... ma..na..ged... to... cha..se.. it.. of..." murmured Leaffur.
"hush.. u need all the energy u can spear..." meowed Redfang.
"Will she survive!!?" asked Brackenheart, one of Leaffur's best friends.
"I did all i can... its up to StarClan now..." murmured Redfang. Suddenly, Leaffur's breathing was getting faster. A few seconds later...
"Good...bye... shadow...clan... i... hunt... with... starclan... now..."After those wordss, Leaffur stopped breathing. "NO! IT CANT BE!" shouted Brackenheart.
"My deputy... gone..." meowed Darkstar, sadly.
"How r we going to tell Stormclaw?" asked Brackenheart, concerned. Stormclaw was Leaffur's mate. She was expecting kits in 5 moons...
"Tell me what!?" ordered Stormclaw as he walked in the clearing. "LEAAFFUR!! NO! THIS CANT HAPPEN! We were supposed to have kits!! They were gonna be the most beautiful kits in the world!!" shouted Stormclaw, at the sight of Leaffur's limp body. Suddenly Leaffur started breathing again although her breathing was quick and shallow.
"I will always love you, Stormclaw..." meowed Leaffur. She stopped breathing again...
"Lets go... we will leave Stormclaw alone with Leaffur. " meowed Darkstar to his clan. He knew who his deputy would be. Snarlclaw will be our new deputy! thought Darkstar cheerfuly.
"All old enough to catch there own prey join here beneath the highrock for another clan meeting!" yowled Darkstar...
