Volume 1| Chapter 2

Arriving at my fathers study I am waiting to be announced
'Lady Ines is entering'. The door opens and I see they were waiting for me.
My father sitting at the desk of his office, my mother and brother,Izek sitting on the couch. 'Ines.' My father says with absolutely nothing but a cold expression.
I swallow,'yes father you have called for me?' I say in a questionable tone.
'Yes,how was your meeting with the Crown Prince?' He asks.
I try to hide how scared I am,although I know he can feel it.
'It was fine,father. We just had tea and chatted about useless things.'
'I see..make sure not to make any mistakes and keep his highness happy,as you know this has been very important to us since a very long time.'
Haaa... I really want to scream my lungs out and cry right now.
'Yes father, I will make sure no mistakes are made.'
I answer with a forced smile.
He dismisses me and I make my way back to my room. In four days,my coming of age ceremony will be held. That's when my engagement with crown prince Rezef Besa will be made official.
And after that I will have to appoint a personal knight since I will be the crown princess from that moment on.
As I am wandering out of my thoughts I notice that I in fact did not make my way to my room. The flower garden my father made me when I was young... As I feel tears coming up forcing myself not to cry, my maid Isabelle noticed. 'My lady do not cry,this garden is too beautiful for that'. And she takes me into a warm hug. Tears falling down as soon as she said that. She doesn't say anything anymore. Only my crying voice and the wind are being heard. This flower garden is not beautiful at all. It only reminds me of where I am standing right now.
In an awful situation,where I will have to betray my fiancé one day.
My family was not always this cruel, why did it suddenly become like this?
Why did my life take such a head turn?
After I'm done crying I let Isabelle know to let me go and I am okay now.
Still, I sit beside the flowers on the ground and smell them. Blushing at the smell of the flowers. They smell so sweet and beautiful.
I get up and make my way to my room this time.
'My lady shall I prepare lunch?' Isabelle says.
'Yes please do that.' I answer.
'Will my lady be eating at the dining hall with her family or in her room?' She asks once again.
'I will eat my meal in my room like always.' I say in a sad but strong tone.
*10 years ago at the palace at the banquet hall*
At this time the emperor gave a feast since it was his birthday.
Children were also allowed att this event.
Of course Rezef, the crown prince and Ines were there too. Ines at this time was 8 and Rezef was 10. Little Ines always liked a handsome face and so when she arrived at the ball she looked everywhere for the most handsome man on the event.

Her pretty green eyes fell on a really cute and handsome boy. Blond hair,blue eyes,tall. Ines looked at him and pointed her finger at him.
'I like you,you're the most handsome. Let's get married'.
Everyone looked at who Ines was pointing at. It was the young crown prince. Rezef.
Ines's parents where scolding her since it was disrespectful to point at the prince but the emperor had completely different thoughts. He found it amusing and declared that day that Ines and Rezef would be getting engaged on the day Ines was to come of age. But Ines did not realise that, not long after the declaration, her family will be completely destroyed.
