Getting out of the carriage I see the big golden palace before me.
'Let's go' my father says. So we go into the palace and get announced before the ballroom. There are a lot of people here already.
'Oh my..it's that vicious woman.' 'Haven't you heard last time she went to lady Margarets tea party,she threw the tea on lady Irene.'
Whispers come out of each corner,loud enough so I could hear them. I only threw the tea because she mentioned Amara's dead and hinting it was my fault.'
We go up to where the Emperor,Empress and Rezef are seated and greet them. 'Ines,welcome how does the ball suit your taste?' The emperor answers our greeting.
'I thank you for this beautiful event it is indeed more extravagant than I had imagined'
'Haha no no please the pleasure is all mine.' He says proudly.
'May I have everyone's attention. I hereby announce my son,the crown prince and Ines the daughter of the duke Jaburnee,officially be engaged!' The Emperor annouched.
Now,its official. Everyone claps their hand and cheers us on,but I know it's not genuine of course.
'Now we've all been waiting for you so we could start the first dance' he says
It is enquete for the star of the show and her significant other to have the first dance.
And so Rezef reaches his hand out to me,I give him my hand and we head to the dance floor.
The music starts and we start dancing the national dance of the Busan Emipre.
'Is it just me or do you seem to struggle with this dance?' Rezef breaks the silence.
I look at him with a bored expression and them... BAM! I stepped on his foot,on purpose of course. 'Oh my.. my apologies your highness I am indeed not so good at dancing.' I say in a not-so convincing tone.
He looks at me like he's a bit irritated and with his eyebrows furrowed. 'It's fine I can't imagine you being good at many things anyways'
'Haha..' you would be surprised at how how good I an at killing. Obviously I did not say that out loud. BAM! Again on his foot.
'I can't wait for this dance to be over.' He mumbles
Serves you right.
Not long after that the dance ended. We bow to each other out of courtesy and Rezef disappears leaving me alone.
'Look look the prince left her all alone.'
'I can't imagine being tied to a person like her I wouldn't want to be around her either.' 'Waaah look at her she looks so scary and vicious.'
I can hear you all you know.. anyways, it doesn't matter.
I make my way out of the ballroom to get some air.
At this point it's fine to be anywhere expect in that room.
'Haha your highness we shouldn't do this here someone could see us!' I hear a woman somewhat whispering.
'It's fine. Everyone is at the ball anyways.' A man?I look around searching for the voices. And there I see them, Margaret and the shit crown prince kissing each other as if there was no tomorrow. I just stand there a few meters before them and stare at them with a bored and disgusted face. After a long minute they notice me.
Margaret starts to appoligse, 'Oh my lady Ines I didn't mean for you to find out'.
Obviously she did. Rezef just stares at me , his lips smudged with lipstick.
'Your highness please refrain from getting caught committing such a hideous act,try doing it somewhere more private. I suggest something called 'a room' ever heard of it? Trust me,you'll have a lot more privacy there and won't be interrupted like just now.' I scof at him. He just looks at me with no expression in his eyes.
'Margaret,leave.' He orders her.
'Huh? Your highness?' She asks confused.
'Do i need to repeat myself ?' He looks at her with an annoyed face.
She quickly bowes her head and leaves.
With an annoyed look towards me of course.
Rezef looks at me for a moment and does not say anything.
Finally, he walks towards me until our lips are only a few centimeters far from each other. What? Why is he so close?
'Your highness?' I ask
He does not say anything , as if he were in a trans.
This is getting me nervous what is he about to do? After kissing her why is he so close to me all of a sudden?
