Part XII: Stranger Things

Hey everyone, it's me again. It has been a long time since I have updated this book. Best in the World returns with a vengeance and over the past few months, I have been doing a lot of thinking for myself, regarding my future here on Wattpad. 2023 was a fucked-up year for me, filled with nothing but pain, suffering, and sadness, and due to my absence on Wattpad, I've been losing motivation to write ANYTHING at all, let alone update anything. I fucking hate myself for the lack of updates, and I know I should take it easy, but I couldn't help but feel guilty for leaving everyone out in the open, without any updates on my books,  but I didn't want to lose hope, I didn't want to let you all down. The pain is still there, looming over my shoulder, but I will keep my head up, focus on my books, and look to better myself as time goes on. I just wanted to tell you all of that, just a little update from the Guy Who Can't Be Killed (it's a little name that my friends gave me, lol.) But anyway, here's Chapter 12 of Best in the World, enjoy.

Narrator's POV

Last time on Best in the World (Yes, that's the name of the book, a minor change), it has been a few weeks since Izuku rescued Eri from the hands of Overhaul and adopted her into the family. The Wick and Yaoyorozu families continued to live their peaceful lives in Paris, until John called Izuku, and the two boogeymen walked outside their house and sat down at the patio. John briefed Izuku on his mission. Izuku was hired by a bank manager at the central bank in Paris, who received a tip that a big heist crew was planning a heist and preparing to rob the bank, and Izuku didn't want that to happen.

So the goal is simple: "Prevent the bank robbery from happening by neutralizing the bank robbers by any means necessary." that's what Izuku was hired to do because he could take care of a problem like this, but he wasn't the only one listening. Momo was listening to the mission briefing and wanted to help Izuku, so Izuku took Momo in and the two began their mission, after gathering info on the bank robbery and letting Momo go on a hunting spree, the couple finished with their mission and got compensated, all in a day's work!

Our story continues where we left off, after that successful mission. Izuku and Momo were in the middle of another afternoon, treating themselves nicely after that mission, they are returning home with some wonderful gifts, using the money that they've earned from that contract.

Izuku: "After how many hours...we're finally back home," said Izuku in a playful yet exhausted voice as he rested his head on the steering wheel. Momo couldn't help but giggle at Izuku's playful behavior, she gave him a pat on the back.

Momo: "Chin up, Izuku, today was very productive and honestly, it was quite fun. We just saved a bank from being robbed."

Izuku: "Yeah, originally, we should let the cops do their jobs, but we're just doing them a favor and letting some unknown assassins do their jobs and complete the mission." Izuku pauses for a moment to recuperate.

Izuku: "But you know what, fuck it, we just did it"

Momo: "You sound very exhausted there, Izuku~," says Momo as she smiles at Izuku.

Izuku: "You're kidding me, right? We just got back from saving Paris' central bank, one of the biggest banks in the whole city from dealing with an elite heist crew, stopping their plans, shooting them in their asses."

Izuku paused for a moment.

Izuku: "I didn't mean it literally, but you get what I am saying, Momo."

Momo: "I know, I know, tough guy," says Momo in a playful tone.

The two of them sat in the car momentarily before heading inside the house.

Momo: "Hey darling, I wanted to ask you this." Momo takes a deep breath before she speaks to Izuku again. "My parents are making flight arrangements soon, we're heading off to Japan."
