Eesha jolts up to the sound of drums, she blinks to adjust her vision. Candles are ignited around various areas of the Parlor, Lady Teeyah dances around the space blowing ashes and beating the talking the drum. She grins at Eesha.
"Lulling the spirits back to sleep"
Eesha nods then rests her head on the arm of the couch. A spider with dull rhinestone covered butt creeps to her folded leg. She grins then taps it butt with her finger.
She brings out a porcupine spine yet again and drops it on the couch's head. Eesha's eyes goes to the Grandfather's clock.
3:33 am.
She stares at it for long. Red eyes appear. Eesha doesn't look away instead she winks and the eyes look to frown before disappearing.
The drums lull her back to sleep and she does that with a smile.

Eesha sits on the swing chair on the front porch. Her bare legs moving it back and forth. Yuri waters the garden. Eesha's mind wanders about everything and nothing.
A car pulls up in front of Lady Teeyah's gate. Eesha and Yuri's head whip in that direction. A woman in matching shapeless skirt and blouse and her head tied up in a scarf comes out of the car. Her heels click on the floor.
She grazes the gate open, the sound infuriates the driver he changes his mind on getting out off the car. Eesha stands up then runs to her mother. She hugs her tightly then detaches with a smile.
"I'm sorry I ran out"
"It is okay. I'm here to take you back" At that moment Lady Teeyah comes. Her usual get up with the cane.
"Joy" Lady Teeyah nods once.
"Ah-fon ghan-jee-yah"
"Been a while"
"It has. I appreciate you taking care of Eesha. I'm taking her back now" And with that Eesha's adopter mother turns to walk away. She stops when she notices nobody following her.
"Mama. I desire to spend the remaining holiday with Aunt Teeyah. She's been teaching me a lot"
Yuri Gelma grins.
Lady Teeyah smirks then tips her hat, Eesha nods tipping her own hat. That's when Joy Taiwo Amadin gets a good look at her daughter. The boots, the skirt, the several bangles, the blazer, the hat with the spider ornament on it.
Her whole adornment.
Joy's eyes widen.
