Chapter 4

The next day Naruto was getting discharged, so Sasuke was directly meeting him at his house after school.

Usually they'd sit further apart even if they're both just lazying about in Naruto's room.

But today, Sasuke causally sat close to Naruto, right next to him on the bed, in Naruto's room.

He wondered hopefully how far this closeness would allow him to get.

Though he still didn't know what had occurred the past week for Sasuke to suddenly get this cozy with him.

He was certainly hopeful to say the least.

"Sasuke... Sit closer to me..?", he asked hesitantly, hoping this doesn't make it awkward and spoil the mood. But sasuke who looked taken aback for just a moment before smiling pleasantly, blew all his doubts away.

"It can't be helped", Sasuke said scooting closer to him on the bed, "Can't say no to the injured", he smirked. Lightly referring to the wrist that was still wrapped in a bandage - though just for a cautionary measure since it was already almost better.

"Hah, is that so? Then, will you also gimme a hug?", he tired to persist, being too hopeful.

Sasuke chuckled, lightly leaning into his embrace. Gently holding him.

"...I think it's the first time we've ever hugged", Naruto said thoughtfully, trying to clam his heart from speeding away.

"mn", Sasuke just smiled into his shoulder, thinking back on how he had that very same thought a week back when they actually hugged for the first time, though it was a little sad that Naruto didn't remember it anymore, he was still glad to see him not holding back as much as before.

"...will you let me kiss you too?", Naruto whispered in a low voice. Sasuke shivered and shrank in his embrace, "Of course! Not on the lips", Naruto hurriedly added.

But either way, kissing was something Sasuke was yet to experience with him - though he did lightly kiss his hand once but never on the lips or even cheeks for that matter. For some reason, even when Naruto thought they were lovers, he never tried to kiss him intimately. Sasuke definitely found it strange now, since it seems like Naruto actually wanted to kiss him.

"Um... Sorry, it's seems I made an awkward joke, my bad", Naruto apologized when Sasuke stayed silent.

And Sasuke hated to hear him call it a joke, so...

He leaned back just a little and lightly kissed his cheek.

Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief but before he could ask him anything or look at him for that matter, Sasuke was already sinking in his embrace, trying to hide his face.

He chuckled, nuzzling his hair and softly kissing his ear that was bright red.

"Ahn, not there..!", Sasuke blushed more when he let out a weird voice.

Naruto blushed as well, realizing how dangerous this situation was at the moment.

"mn", he lightly nodded. Not knowing what else to say after hearing such a dangerously cute moan from Sasuke.

They stayed like that for a bit more before moving away and just sitting next to eachother.

"Hey, were you feeling down before cause I forgot what happened the past week..?", Naruto questioned carefully after a while.

"Why.. Are you asking that?", Sasuke was slightly taken aback.

"Just- you can't deny that we've grown closer than before, physically I mean... ", he trailed off bashfully.

"Ah...", Sasuke looked down guiltily.

"Hey, you were finally cheered up, so don't look like that again, I'm sorry for bringing up something that's been bothering you but won't you talk to me..? I'll never know if you don't tell me", Naruto lightly took a hold of his hand.

"...", Sasuke bit into his lower lip, unable to bring himself to say it all.

"Sasuke, don't do that, you'll hurt yourself", Naruto gently touched Sasuke's lips with his thumb, hand gently placed on his cheek.

Sasuke blushed lightly and looked at him, opening his mouth to say something, then closing it right after without uttering a word.

"Did I confess maybe?", Naruto somehow knew that Sasuke must have found out about his feelings in the past week that he couldn't recollect.

Sasuke's eyes widened and he gulped, looking down nervously.

"So that was it... Will you tell me what happened please..?", Naruto pleaded.

Sasuke nodded guiltily, telling him the gist of what had occurred in the past week.

"Did we kiss then..?", was the only question Sasuke received after guiltily admitting to having lied to him.

Sasuke quickly shook his head, hurriedly.

"Then, there's a good chance I didn't believe we were lovers, or at least didn't believe that you were in love with me yet", he grinned, "so don't feel guilty, Sasuke, and thanks a lot for caring about me so much, I love you"

Sasuke looked at him dazedly, heart speeding up in his chest. Then smiled lightly, blushing, "mn", he nodded.

"Ahhh I love you so much, Sasuke! I'm so happy that I don't need to hide it anymore! Hey, you don't mind being loved by me, do you?", Naruto smiled.

Sasuke silently shook his head, still blushing slightly.

Naruto smiled wider, "I love you"

Sasuke looked down, smiling bashfully. Now that he was able to tell Naruto everything he felt guilty about, properly apologize and even surprisingly get forgiven - which he honestly didn't expect.

He could only feel happier to hear Naruto tell him those sweet words of love.

He even ended up thinking, that he'd love to be able to say it back one day.
