A/N: The song Y/N is singing along to in this scene is Anata ni Aitakute (Missing you/I want to see you) by Matsuda Seiko. It's a great song that somewhat captures her mood as the faceless young man from her dreams keeps appearing in her thoughts. She suspects those dreams are their shared memories, tucked away in the back of her head. Give it a listen.
They say the bravest thing you can do in life is to face your fears and overcome the traumas of your past. But how can we accomplish that when the wounds from yesterday are still fresh and bleeding? How can we find the courage to heal when there's no guarantee that we'll ever truly be whole again?

I gently close my eyes)The sky was a thick, leaden gray, mirroring the weight of the boxes piled high in the hallway outside your new apartment door. This move was a necessary step, a downsizing to a smaller, more affordable unit within the same building. But it was more than just a change of scenery; it was an escape. You were moving from the second floor to the fourth, hoping to put some distance between yourself and the person who had been bothering you.
"Y/n, I hope your new unit is to your liking," the owner approached, tiny keys dangling from his pinky. Despite his menacing demeanor, his voice was warm and friendly. "It's a bit smaller, but I think you'll find it comfortable."
You nodded, offering a hesitant smile. "Thank you, I'm looking forward to settling in."
"It's a good unit," he said, handing you the key. "Here you go."
"Thank you, Hayashida-san," you expressed your appreciation, bowing your head.
"I've told you, just call me Pah-chin," he scoffed, ruffling your hair. "Anyway, if there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to ask."
"I will. For now, if anyone attempts to visit me, could you please tell them I'm not accepting visitors yet. Except for the certain people I informed beforehand, let them in. And don't tell anyone else my new apartment unit, will you?" you requested, your voice laced with a plea. Pah-chin nodded in agreement, respecting your space and the time you needed.
He couldn't help but think back to the other day, when he witnessed a certain guy he knew, Haru, insisting that you let him into your unit despite your repeated refusals. You weren't in the right state to hear any explanation from him.
