People often advise letting go of all that brings misery into your life. But how do I release my grip when those causing the pain are the very ones I hold dearest

|•SECOND PERSON's POV•|
*Long Chapter Ahead*
The evening was cloaked in a veil of darkness, punctuated only by sporadic flashes of lightning that starkly lit your room with a harsh, white light. The rain was unyielding, each droplet pounding against the window pane, composing a symphony of nature's wrath. Thunder bellowed in the distance, a deep, resonating sound that reverberated through the night.
Amidst this tempest, you lay on a plush bed, your body snugly cocooned in the warmth of soft blankets. Yet, despite the physical comfort, sleep was a distant dream. Each flash of lightning, each rumble of thunder, sent a jolt of fear through you, resurrecting a traumatic memory from your past.
It was a memory of you falling into a four-foot deep hole during a similar storm. The rain had been relentless, and a bolt of lightning had struck the edge of the hole, entrapping you within. The memory was as vivid as if the event had transpired just yesterday, and it continued to haunt you every time a storm ensued.
You drew the blanket tighter around you, attempting to ward off the cold and the creeping fear. You used a pillow to muffle your ears, hoping to drown out the cacophony of the storm.
Yet, as you closed your eyes, it wasn't just the traumatic incident from your childhood that played out before you. Recent, unwanted events also invaded your mind. The humiliation you'd endured, the gaslighting, the accusations, and most painfully, the betrayal and disappointment from your elder brothers - all these memories swirled in your mind, amplifying your inner turmoil.
You felt trapped in your own whirlwind of emotions, where the past and present collided in a tumult of fear, betrayal, and disappointment. The storm outside mirrored the tempest within you, and all you could do was hold on, yearning for the dawn to break and bring with it the promise of a new day.
*One Week Ago (Flashback/Recap)
"But love, it still wasn't right to slap Ran-niichan like that. She can't be held accountable for doing that. I'm her friend, but I won't tolerate her," Erika continued to gaslight you.
You gritted your teeth, glaring at her with a simmering fury. Your relationship with Ran wouldn't have become so strained, nor would you have been so traumatized, if she hadn't manipulated Rindou to break your spirit.
Given that she'd painted you as the villain in her narratives, you thought it was about time you played the part and gave her a taste of her own medicine.
"Go after her!"
"Teach her a lesson!"
"Kick her ass!"
"Bigwasan mo na (Make her taste your wrath)!"These words echoed in your mind, spurring you on to seek justice and revenge.
"Matagal na akong nagtitimpi sayo (I've been holding back, but now I've had enough!)" you seethed, your fists clenched in anger and hatred towards her.
"Ipokrita ka, tama na pa-victim at pagpapanggap na mabait. Pumunta ka na sa impiyerno! (You're a hypocrite! Enough with your victim act and pretending to be nice. Go to hell!)" you screamed in rage, charging towards her. You'd had enough of her antics, and it was time for her to learn that picking a fight with you was a grave mistake.
