Chapter 4
Theo B.

It's been nothing but total silence. I've lost track of time. It feels like an hour but for all I know it could have only been five minutes. I guess that's the thing about fear — it makes you so focused on what is making you scared that you forget about everything else.

"Hey!" I yell out again in the total darkness. My only response is my own voice, echoing off the spacious walls. I cough again, both from the combination of dust in this place and my throat being raw from yelling. Either I'm being deeply ignored, or my kidnappers are long gone.

But the moment it breaks the air around me freezes, and that feeling of tightness in my throat comes back. Oh no. This was intentional, dammit. My head spins, and colours start to swirl and enter my peripheral vision. I try to break out of the ropes tying me to the chair, but it's useless because I've lost all sense of navigation. Every part of my body — other than my arms — feels as light as a feather. I'm drowsy. I'm getting more drowsy. Sleepy. I'm so tired. I'm so...
