Chapter 6

*Kelseys P.O.V*

I woke up early in the morning my face was all red and blotchy from crying. I looked at my phone I had a reminder. Today I can write a letter to my brother! I smiled and got a piece of paper and pen. My brother is in the army and is in Iraq. I have a really close connection with him from boy advice to music notes. He also plays instruments like me.

I tried not to cry as I wrote on the paper.

Dear Lane,

Sorry I haven't wrote in while but guess where I am! At dads for the entire summer. Last night I ran into this boy from a band. He was really cute and nice. I spilled my tea on him so I helped him clean up. When I got home dad ran into the door ad yelled at me and smashed my laptop! I cried for hours. Lane I love and be careful out there.

I put the note in an envelope. I walked down stairs and smelled food. Pancakes! Ashlyn and Lindsay were in the kitchen eating them. I saw my dad flipping pancakes. He looked up at me and smiled "Good morning beautiful! I made you pancakes!" I rolled my eyes and grabbed a plate.

After I ate I took a shower and put on my I heart New York shirt, skinny jeans, and black Vans. I let my hair dry natural and wore no makeup. I walked down stairs and asked Ashlyn and Lindsay to come to the post office with me.

"Who's the letter for?" Ashlyn asked me. "Oh my brother Lane he is in the army." I said. As we walked out the door guess who I ran into. Niall.

"Well hello there!" Niall said as we bumped into each other. "You know we have to quiet meeting like this!" I said laughing. He smiled at me.

"Where you gals heading?" He asked us. "To the post office." Ashlyn said. "Oh why?" He asked. "Kelsey's brother is in the army." Lindsay said.

"Mind if I join?" He asked. I shook my head and he walked beside me. It was a quiet walk. When we got to the post office I asked how long they think the letter would take. About two weeks. I had to wait four weeks to get a reply. Awesome.

I walked back home and ran into the kitchen to grab something to eat. Nothing. "Ugh there's nothing to eat!" I screamed. "Let's go to Nandos!" Niall screamed. Damn that boy is loud. "Cool where's that?" I asked.

"C'mon let's go!" He said pulling me in his car.

"Holy shit I think I'm in love!" I said stuffing food in my mouth.

"This is good food!" Lindsay said.

"Thought you guys would like it!" Niall said. He practically ordered everything. We left later and when I got home I saw my dad at the table.

"Kelsey I want you to stay home for the night." He said. Niall went back to his friends house so my dad wouldnt see him. I didn't want to argue so I just walked up stairs Ashlyn and Lindsay followed. I sat on my bed and grabbed my guitar.

"Pretty please play a song!" Ashlyn begged giving me the puppy eyes. I'm a sucker for the puppy eyes. "Fine what do you want me to play?" I asked.

"The A Team by Ed Sheeran!" She exclaimed. I sat down and played the intro.

White lips pale face breathing in the snow flakes.

I sang the whole song and at the end Ashlyn and Lindsay jaws were wide open. "You guys like it?" I said laughing. The shook there heads and clapped. The rest of the night we played songs and sang.
