The Prom Changed Our Life

Chapter 2

"Well, are you going to tell Derek about the baby?" Cristina asked while talking down the hallway with Meredith.

"I mean I kind of have too, I mean it's Derek's baby too and he does have a say in this situation." Meredith answered quietly, trying to be discreet.

"What about Addison and Finn?" Cristina wondered.

"Crap." I forgot about them, " I mean I'm not that worried about Addison, but poor Finn."

"I mean he's a good guy, he doesn't deserve any of this."

"Well do you love Finn, or do you love Derek?" Cristina questioned as Meredith and Cristina headed to the elevator.

"If I'm honest... I like Finn but I really do love Derek." Meredith admitted.

"Simple, just end it with Finn then." Cristina said pressing the elevator button.

"Oh yes Cristina, it's so simple, I'll just go tell my boyfriend that I slept with my ex-boyfriend and now I'm pregnant with his child so now I'm going to dump you, sorry." Meredith replied sarcastically. 

Cristina rolled her eyes, " good point."

Meredith took a big sigh, " I'll just tell Derek and then depending on what he says I'll tell Finn."

Mer and Cristina finally arrived on the floor that they need to be on. The elevator doors opened when a tall, handsome neurosurgeon stood standing in front of them. Meredith froze.

Cristina gave Meredith a nudge," This is your chance." she whispered.

Meredith jumped back into reality, " uh... Derek, can I speak with you after work please, it's important."

Derek looked up from the chart that he was reading, "sure...where do you want to meet?"

"Is it okay if we meet at your trailer?" Meredith asked politely.

"Yeah, that's fine." Derek answered, curious on what Meredith wanted to talk about since they hadn't spoken in weeks.

It was the end of the workday for Meredith, so she drove over to Derek's trailer. Once she arrived, she parked her car next to his and headed over to his trailer door. She anxiously knocked on the metal door and waited for him to answer. Within seconds, the door flung open with Derek on the other side.

"Hey Meredith, come in please." Derek smiled.

Meredith walked in and took a seat on the edge of Derek's bed. Derek stood on the other half of his trailer and looked over at Meredith. 

Meredith went to open her mouth when Derek spoke out before her," If this is about the prom, I'm really sorry, I know you're with Finn and-."

Meredith stopped Derek from continuing, " Derek. Stop talking and let me speak... I'm not here to talk about what happened at the prom, well I kind of am. Anyways... I umm found out I was pregnant last week."

Derek's eyebrows raised," and you're telling me this because?"

"Because the baby is yours Derek." Meredith spat out.

"Are you sure? What about Finn?" Derek questioned.

"You'll be glad to hear that I've never had sex with Finn, so the baby is 100% yours. I understand if you don't want anything to do with it since you're with Addison." Meredith stated.

"No, no Meredith I want to want to be a part of this." Derek confirmed.

"You do?" Meredith asked.

Derek slowly walked closer to Meredith and placed his bum on the bed and sat beside her, "Meredith, I love you, I've always loved you and I know our relationship has been complicated and messy and this is probably not the way you wanted to have kids, nor the time since you're an intern but when I say I'm all in, I mean it."
