~24th December~

The alarm went off early in the morning and the couple had no energy to get up. Derek groaned and his eyes fluttered open to see 6:30 in red bold letters on the alarm. He reached over to turn it off then turned to face Meredith who still had her eyes closed.

"Mer, we have to get up." Derek whispered, running his hand the through her tangled hair and kissing her cheek.

"Ugh, do we have to? Meredith mumbled hiding herself under the blanket.

"Mer, I know you're tired, I am too, but we have to go to work this morning, then we have an appointment with Dr.Lees, then we have to get back for our Christmas meal with Susan and Thatcher." Derek explained in a soft tone.

"Ugh I knowww! I just have no energy." Meredith complained pulling her head up from under the covers.

"How about we both get out of bed and have a nice, warm soak in the bath and then we can have breakfast and get ready for work." Derek offered with a smile.

"Okay." Meredith sighed, finally fully opening her eyes. She kissed Derek on the lips, and she slowly got out of bed.

Meredith brushed her tangled hair as Derek headed into their on-suite bathroom to run their bath. Derek put enough bubbles in to cover Meredith's knees and boobs, as she liked it, then turned off the warm water and began to undress.

"Mer the bath is ready." Derek called out.

"Kay." Meredith replied with a small yawn.

She dragged her feet over to the bathroom and smiled when she saw Derek. Derek helped her undress and they both hopped into the bathtub.

The couple soon cheered up as they sat in the bathtub talking about their baby.

"You know, once we find out the gender, after new year we should shopping for the baby." Meredith suggested.

"That would be nice." Derek smiled, massaging Meredith's shoulders and kissing her cheek.

"Mhmm Derek that massage feels really good." Meredith beamed.

"I should do it more often to be honest." Derek admitted.

"Yeah, you should." Meredith agreed with a smirk.

The couple was now sitting, with their eyes closed, quietly in the tub enjoying each other's company.

Meredith broke the silence, "Ah!"

Derek's eyes widened, "What is it? Are you alright?!"

"Peaches just kicked in my ribs and it hurt a little, that's all." Meredith explained to Derek, trying to calm him.

"Oh." Is all he could say as his hand then hovered over to her abdomen.

Derek's hand was on top of Meredith's abdomen, and he rubbed circles lovingly and smiled.

After their bathe, the couple got dressed and went downstairs and had a quick breakfast.

They headed to the hospital to start work and after what felt like a long 5 hours, they went to the OB floor.

At this point doctors and nurses were becoming suspicious of Meredith and clearly talking about her. Meredith figured out it would be best to not make a big deal about it and if they find out that she's pregnant, they find out.

Meredith and Derek sat in the waiting room. Derek picked up the article from the coffee table in front of them called 'Newborns need love' and began to flick through. Whereas Meredith had zoned out completely, she was just staring into thin air and thinking about how she was going to plan out her pregnancy as intern, including maternity leave etc.
