Meredith and Derek were both in the kitchen eating breakfast. Derek had his usual muesli however Meredith was just munching on Izzie's cupcakes.

They were both sitting at the dining room table when Meredith started a conversation, "Remember later we have an appointment with Dr.Lees."

"How could I forget." Derek smiled, staring into Meredith's eyes.

Leaning at the door Izzie butted in, "What appointment?"

Meredith went pale as she didn't want to say anything about the baby so she just glared at Derek hoping he would think of a good answer.

"It's an appointment for me, just to check my hand because I injured it..." Derek made up on the spot.

"Right..." Izzie said, not believing a word he said.

"We need to get to work...Derek." Meredith eyed Derek.

"Yes, we do." He agreed, not wanting to make the conversation with Izzie more awkward.

"Iz, you coming?" Meredith asked.

"No, I'm fine here." Izzie responded.

"Iz, are you ever coming back?" Meredith questioned as she headed to the door with Derek behind her.

"Mer, I quick my job, I killed my fiancé, I doubt I'm ever going back." Izzie stated.

"Cmon Iz, we all make mistakes." Meredith begged, as Derek helped Meredith put her coat on.

"Meredith I'm not doing this right now, If I do come back, it's not anytime soon." Izzie replied.

"Whatever." Meredith sighed, as her hormones kicked in again.

Meredith followed Derek to the car, slamming the front door behind her.

Meredith had just finished Bailey's post-ops and was waiting for the test results to come back for her patient, so she just leant on the railings of the catwalk glaring out the windows. Meredith just watched as doctors and patients entered and exited the double doors of the hospital until one particular person caught her eye. It was Izzie.

Meredith let out a small smile and watched Izzie who was standing outside the hospital. Meredith went to find Alex or George who could hopefully persuade her to come inside. After minutes of searching, she found George who was sitting at a nurses' station.

"Hey, George, could you speak to Iz for me, she's outside the hospital but I can't really speak to her since I may have upset her this morning." Meredith began.

"Wait she's actually outside the hospital?" George questioned.

"Yes, I think my nagging this morning may have helped." Meredith replied.

"I mean I could because all I'm doing is charting and I could finish that later." George answered, getting out of his chair.

"Thanks George." Meredith smiled.

George went to speak to Izzie as Meredith's pager went off.

Meredith ran to her 911 page. She arrived at CT to see her patient coding, so she paused the CT scan and began a code blue.

"Charging paddles to 100 and someone page Dr.Bailey." Meredith yelled.

The patient was still coding so Meredith yelled once more, "Charge again to 200."

"Charge to 300!" Meredith shouted.

"Dr Grey there is still no pulse." A nurse stated.

"Time of death 12:32." Meredith declared.
