The sun was rising, everyone was smiling... everyone accept Sam. "Why didn't you tell us before?! I read the letters this shit happened months ago!" My dad, angrier than ever, stood up and told us to go in our room and told my mom to go with us. We all walked to our room, mom included, so she sat down with us and she asked us what we wanted to do today, Abby asked if she had to do school that day, mom told her we were going to do something... fun, no school, no work, just family time. I would have been happy from the news, but I couldn't help but hear the conversation from downstairs, I could hear it but very faintly... "I thought we did everything together! I always told you what was going on with my life but now this?... I read every single letter you sent to mom, I didn't even know you wrote to mom till the mailman gave me the mail instead, I saw your name there, I didn't care to much till I opened it... I couldn't help but look through all the other letters, you didn't even say hi to us!!! It's been 2 years!! No, 'hey how ya doing?' or 'I miss you guys so much hope to see you' Do you think moms more important than us? So much more important you just go quiet for years? You didn't even tell us you were coming! What, we're you gonna leave after you gave mom all your, affection and just leave again? If Michael never came down, would you tell us you were here? Or just leave..." It went quiet... My mom could tell I was feeling scared so she looked in my eyes and asked "What do you want to do today-Michael?" I looked up at my caring mother and told her. "I want our family to be normal again' I paused-took a breath and told her I missed what we use to be. Yes I felt bad for what I said but It was the truth, I missed us. silence filled the air... Until I heard loud footsteps running up the stairs, mom told us to stay as she peaked her head out the room to see what the noise was. "You know what?! Fine! I'll go, you don't want me here I don't care! You know why? Because I can't trust anyone here anymore! Especially you...' I heard a sniffle and a loud breath 'I thought I could trust you..." He entered his room and slammed the door-my dad knocked the tightly shut door asking for just a word, and a sign of affection for he felt bad and somewhat guilty "Look son.... I know I messed up but I'm here now, aren't I?' 'that's the problem, I-don't-want-you anymore, not now and not ever!" We all heard it- and we could tell It broke mom's loving heart, but the story wasn't the same for our dad. "Young man I do not like where this attitude Is coming from! So you better cut it off or else!" "Or else what?... You're gonna hurt me? Leave me? Abandoned us so you can go out to kill people? And another thing- You want to know where this attitude is coming from?! Yoooou- you made me like this', 'Son I'm sick of this, did I mess up? maybe but that's no reason to disrespect me- I'm your father, I make the rules, and you-obey-me!" My mom was so distracted she didn't notice me poke my head out the room as well as my 2 siblings present, and we watched as the drama took place before our very eyes. Sam was angry, and he was done... He stood tall as he tried to intimidate our father with his physically strong body, puffing up his chest and breathing harshly. He walked closer to our father and gave him a shove and demanded he fight him- mocking him and calling him names. "Metal legs! Where's you soooo important soldiers now?! Just me and you!" My mom ran in-between the heated, and rage filled area and begged that it be stopped-and they work it out like civilized people, not overgrown children... It was after that day my depressed/ miserable/ and pointless life began, and there was No One! That I could trust anymore. Sam looked down at his mother who was there for him even in his darkest hours-and let the rage and anger boil out his soul. My father told her to back away and leave it to him, but she loved them both... and couldn't let this go on-so she went to her son and laid her soft hands on his face and being a lot shorter than him she looked up in his eyes and spoke soft/ calm words to him. "Baby, this isn't you... You're a loving, hardworking, and beautiful boy who I am proud to call my son... now look at this man-he raised you and taught you everything you need to know, we're all imperfect-I know I'm not... and neither is he so please Samuel... Don't do this" Sam's eyes went calm and his soul eased out the boiling rage inside. My dad was quiet/ non saying, fearing what would happen if he disturbed Sam's moment of peace. About a minute went by of quiet and my dad was starting to grow impatient- I thought to myself 'don't do it... just walk away and let him be...' yet he let out a small peek of words/ and walked up to Sam slowly, his wife in between them. He shouldn't have done it/ should've stayed quiet-but who was to tell him what would happen if he did....
