"Delilah, you spelt mum wrong. It's spelt with an 'o,' not a 'u.' You really need to start correcting these simple mistakes." Ms Leaver called from the front of the room. She was sitting at her desk, leaning back in her chair with a few stacks of papers in front of her, Delilah's paper gripped in her hand as she yelled her correction from there.

All heads turned back simultaneously, staring at Delilah as she looks up from her current work. Delilah could hear a few snickers and whispers going around but she didn't care for that as she lifted her head higher into the air. "Actually Ms, in England it's spelt that way. In a lot of countries, it's spelt that way. Americans are mainly the only ones who do it differently." Delilah states, trying to come off as optimistic and nurturing, but really she wanted to yell profanities at the teacher.

Her correction seemed to stun Ms Leaver into silence at the front of the room as she glared over at Delilah. A new wave of snickers and laughs arose from the room, now directed at Ms Leaver because of Delilah's words.

If a person could physically have steam come from their ears, Ms Leaver would be a prime example of such a being and would be studied by animators so they could go their own drawn-up characters to look as life-like as her as she stood at the front of the room, fuming at Delilah's correction.

"Well, we are not in England, are we?" Ms Leaver questions as she stands, looking past the rest of the class as she stares down Delilah. "You will either adjust to the new use of language or I will start marking you down for not complying."

Delilah stays silent at the threat, not particularly fond of the idea. At Delilah's silence, Ms Leaver sits down and picks her sheet of paper up once again, beginning to read through it again as the class goes silent and back to their work.

With a glare on her face, Delilah slowly looks down at her worksheet, knuckles whitening around the pen in her hand. Delilah tried to take some deep breaths, but they only came out loud and rigid as she tried to calm herself down.

"Can you be quiet?" The girl sitting in front of her asked, turning around to face Delilah as she wore an unsatisfied scowl on her face.

Delilah's head shot up to meet the girl's stare, her breathing silenced as she focused on something new. "Why don't you mind your own business?" She shot back, wearing a glare of her own as she stared at the brunette in front of her.
