Chapter 8

Mal walked into the kitchen to find Celia and Uma eating a piece of Jane's birthday cake.

"That was a really good idea, to check Audrey's room." Mal told Uma as she walked over to the table causing Uma to look up at her. "Now, we know that we're on the right track."

"Is there an insult in there that I missed?" Uma asked Mal causing her to smile.

"Just... I wanted to thank you." Mal told Uma genuinely. 

Celia left to check out the rest of the house while Mal sat down across from Uma and cut herself a piece of cake.

"I don't know whose birthday it is, but I want this cake." Uma said as they ate causing Mal to laugh.

"So, I maybe kind of missed the boat a little bit on calling you Shrimpy and not letting you join the gang." Mal told Uma.

"Yeah. We really could've torn up the Isle together." Uma told Mal as Mal wiped her finger through the icing on her piece of cake and licking it from her finger causing Uma to laugh.

All of a sudden, there was a loud bang and the two girls looked over to see a wooden board over the window. The girls looked around in shock as more wooden boards were placed over every door and window, magically locking them inside the house. They quickly stood up together as Celia, Evie, and Doug rushed into the room.

"Celia!" Uma called out and Celia rushed over, hugging her.

"We're trapped!" Celia exclaimed.

"Are you guys okay?" Evie asked as she rushed over to the group with Doug behind her. "What's going on?"

Mal stood in front of the group as her eyes glowed green. "You've caused my friends pain and fear. We've had enough, now disappear!" Mal cried out before gasping in shock when it didn't work. "You guys, I'm sorry. My spells aren't working. Audrey's magic is getting stronger." 

Uma quickly stepped forward when her necklace started to glow. She grabbed Mal's hand as Mal's eyes started to glow. "You've caused our friends pain and fear. We've had enough, now disappear!" Uma and Mal chanted in unison.

There was a pause before all of the wooden boards fell.

"You did it." Evie said in amazement as Uma and Mal tried to catch their breaths. "Together. This is what I've been talking about."

"I guess my shell likes you." Uma said as she glanced at Mal causing Mal to let out a laugh. Uma picked up her shell and took out Hades' ember from inside it and gave it to Mal. "Why don't you hold onto that." Mal and Uma shared a smile before bumping fists.

Celia ran over to the door and looked outside before turning back to the others with a grin on her face.

"Hey, it's your bae." Celia told Mal causing Mal to gasp and run over to the door.

She quickly opened it before going outside with the others following her.

"Y/N!" Mal gasped as she and Y/N rushed towards each other for a hug.

"Are you okay?" Y/N asked Mal, concerned, as they pulled apart.

"Yeah. I'm so much better right now." Mal told her." Are you okay?"

"Yeah." Y/N said with a smile before wrapping her arm around Mal and looking a Uma with a smile. "I always knew you'd be part of the solution."

"What is this?" Mal asked, referring to Y/N's eyes.

"Oh, yeah." Y/N laughed.

"I could get used to this." Mal said with a grin.

"You like it?" Y/N asked Mal.
