It's now the next week and Rachel has some news to tell Rainey.
She barges into Rainey's room and says, "I have great news for you!"
Rainey takes his head off the computer and says, "What is it, mom?"
"So I just talked to your school and they said that for the competition you'll have to go to the school this Friday," She explained.
Rainey nervously says, "I don't know mom. I don't think I'm ready to be over there yet."
She then tells him, "Don't worry. They said me and Rayy can come!"
This makes Rainey feel better. "I guess I can go."
The week quickly passes and it's now Friday. The Rangel family makes their way into the car. On the way there, Rainey stares through the car window. A wave of anxiety washes him down. Knowing he is going to school and mentally destroying him. The teeth chattering begins and chills run down his spine.
Rachel turns around and says, "Hey Rainey, I know you might be nervous but remember, Rayy and I are by your side."
Rainey nods his head and replies, "I'll try my best."
The way Rainey is feeling is horrendous. This level of anxiety feels as if he has never been to therapy. His medicine is too low of dosage for this level of anxiety.
They finally pull into the school. Rachel and Rayy get out of the car but Rainey stays. He can't find the mental strength to get out. Rayy opens the door and tries to get Rainey out of the car.
"Remember what he talked about? You might meet some new people there. People that will accept and be nice to you. We are here for you Rainey," he says.
The words of encouragement allowed Rainey to finally pull himself out of the car.
He sighs and says, "Well let's give this a try."
They all walk inside the school building hoping everything is going to go well. As they open the doors they see beautiful art pieces around the whole area. Rainey's eyes light up from all the canvas surrounding him. Many different themes are showcased. The area screams that it's for artists.
"Attention everyone, please come to the front," Someone said.
Everyone there walked to the front. Once everyone was settled the teacher began.
"Hello everyone! My name is Mr.Janssen," he said.
Mr.Janssen continues, "I'm sure you all know that I'm hosting an art competition. Otherwise, you all wouldn't be here right now."
Rayy whispers to Rainey and Rachel, "This guy isn't very energetic, looks like he's been drawing all night long."
Mr.Janssen then says, "Sorry if I look and sound tired. I've been drawing all night long."
Rayy smiles and struggles to hold his laugh in.
Mr.Janssen begins to go over the rules, "Now to go over the rules. Rule one, the theme is going to be impressionism. With that being said, the second rule is absolutely no nudity. Ther can be blood but not an obscene amount of gore."
Rainey thinks to himself, "Not too bad. I should be able to create something good."
Mr.Janessen resumes, "The third rule is a big heartbreaker, especially for your younger generation."
Everyone in the room seems very confused by what he means by this.
Mr. Janssen then says, "There will be no digital art. You have to draw on paper! You may use a pencil, paint, pastels, chalk, literally anything you'd like. Just no computers!"
