The Saviors had gone back to the Guardians in the night, careful to avoid prying eyes.
Frigid was definitely not happy when Feather told them that their wife was missing.
"YOU WHAT?!" Frigid bellowed, then slapping her paws over her mouth.
"You lost Equity?!" they whisper-shouted.
"Not lost!" Thorn interjected. "Just... Misplaced."
Frigid glared at him, then letting out a bloodcurdling cry, that of a Screech Owl.
The other Guardians rushed out like wildfire.
"What's happening?" Alula growled.
Apollo was brandishing a spear, Rat brandishing one right behind him.
"Equity's missing, I have a sickly feeling that she's in danger and requires our assistance. Have Keeper and Kaede returned with the Hidden Warriors?" Frigid commanded, turning to Hawthorn.
Hawthorn shook his head. "No, but they should return shortly."
Tora lit up, pointing into the distance.
"There they are now! Kaede! Keeper! We missed you!" she chirped, bounding towards them and wrapping them in a hug they happily returned.
"We missed you too," Kaede said softly. "Oh, hey! Feather, Thorn, Moss, Acorn! You guys are back!"
Keeper brought a large Cougar and a silver Jickey into view. The Saviors immediately recognized them as Lark and Greyling and Feather lit up.
"GREY!" she cried, flinging her wings around him, "Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you're here," she said with a grin.
Thorn smiled at the two of them, thankful to see some familiar faces, hugging Greyling as well.
Greyling smiled so wide he thought his face might crack.
"F-Feather!" he exclaimed, returning the hug. "It's s-s-s-so good to s-s-see y-you again."
"It's good to see you too, Grey, you don't even know. You too, Lark!"
"Thanks for remembering me," Lark said dryly, but a small smile graced her lips.
Acorn gently hugged her, the six of them doing a group hug, Lark wrinkling her nose at them.
"Anyway. We're here to help bring Pirate's reign to an end," she said firmly.
"Let's brainstorm," Frigid said, though their mind direly cried to find Equity first and make sure she was safe.
"Viktor is already alerting the rest of our members to be ready to storm the Palace. We think the best way to do this is cause enough chaos that Pirate is forced to confront us, then the Saviors kill him, once and for all," Lark said.
Frigid shook their head. "He has his soldiers to take care of all that, what we need is something that will take away his power and force him to fight on his own four paws."
Feather nodded thoughtfully. "He told us the secret to his mind control.. Of course we would need to get close enough to him to take his bracelets away."
They all nodded slowly.
Suddenly, the prisoners from the birdcage in the dungeons stepped into view, their eyes widening and stopping in their tracks. Greyling stopped mid sentence and he gasped quietly.
"...Grey?" The small, matted, orange Jickey said. Her voice was sweet, like spoonfuls of fresh marmalade.
Greyling spun around and his eyes welled up as he took a step closer to the prisoners. If he wasn't mistaken, these were his best friends in the world, the ones that he lost four years ago.
